Has anyone wired a Window switch on a Z yet?
I have a 2006 but can't seem to figure it out.
I was told I needed a tach-signal adapter, so I got one.
Now I can't figure what wire to tap that into.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

if you read the sticky or searched in this forum, youd see many members have done it.
youll need to find the :throttle position wire and the rpm wire. Both can be located at the ecu. Add power and ground and youre set.

I'm running a Full ZEX kit including window switch on my 2006 350Z.
I purchased an AutoMeter tach signal converter because someone in another forum told me I would need one for my '06. They said the voltage signal to the individual coils is not enough to trigger the Zex window switch.

I just got off the phone with ZEX.
They said they've had this question before for the Z, so they got it figured out.
I can hook the window switch to the negative side of either a coil or a fuel injector. The switch only needs to see a pulse to work.
I'll give it a try this weekend and see how it works.
Thanks for all the feedback.
I do appreciate it.

seriosly, search for the pin number for the the rpm signal. Its so easy to tap it at the ecu instead of going into the engine bay.
Problem is, the two white wires are useless almost. You have to use them to trigger a relay.

It worked fine tapping it into the negative side of a Fuel Injector.
Thanks for the help and suggestions though.
Run one white wire from the window switch (either end) to the negative of one of the ignition coils. The other white wire goes to the Zex unit. That's how I did mine, per the Zex manual for a wet kit, and it works flawlessly for over a year. I grabbed a wire from the coil under the Z-tube, near the firewall. You have to go through the firewall anyway, because most people keep their unit in the engine bay. And since you are running a full Zex kit, there is NO need for a relay, since the Zex brain understands the pulse coming from the window switch.
Good luck.
Good luck.
white wires are the output, not an input. The inputs are green/yellow. one goes to throttle position sensor on a ecu pin ,other goes to rpm/tach signal which is on the ecu. the window switch is setup for 1cyl engine.
Some people have run their nitrous systems on a button, but with most window switches, not only will they only turn on at WOT, but some are even RPM and gear dependent. Thats cool.
The reason you run a window switch is so that you control when the nitrous sprays.
Spraying too low means lots of torque at low rpms which causes lots of stress on the motor, easy to break something.
Spraying too high will cause you bump into the rev limiter, which will cut the fuel and cause you to run lean instantly. Running lean = BOOM!

does any one the pin readout for the TPS and RPM at the ECU. For example A-M across and 1-4 Down. Have 08 350Z. Three jumpers at the ecu. Black, Grey, Brown. I'd prefer not to tap into the TB. Please let me know.
Thanks
