Wizard of Nos Install...
Ok guys, thought I'd put up some pics of my nitrous install. I've had it since July 2008. It's a 50 shot wizards of nos kit (as shown on topgear & fifth gear).
Let's start with the bottle. It's mounted just behind the drivers seat:

And another pic here from the passenger side:

Nitrous arming switch is mounted near the glove box in easy reach to the driver

This is where the solenoids are, kind of like a 'stealth' install so they are not visable upon first popping the hood

From another angle:

This is what it looks like when you put the plastic battery cover back on

Nitrous and fuel jets here

Fuel line here, I think michiganZ was asking questions about how that was set

From another angle

Engine bay

Interior view from passenger side

Interior view from drivers side

Another angle of that

Just thought I'd add a really badly taken picture of the beast!

I'm quite appauled that I am 18bhp UNDER STOCK with my mods... but then again, my zed is 7 years old with almost 80K on the clock....
Red line is the run WITHOUT NITROUS
Green line is the run WITH NITROUS :dummy:
Dotted lines are the torque

Here's some pics of the zed on the RR.

LOL! hey dude!! hows it hanging?
You know I thought I'd add this post to the my350z to see what the yanks thought! LOL..
Hope it gets some good feedback... lol
You got yours dont yet? Make sure you make a thread about it!

Right oki doki folks...
Was getting a little too used to the fixed 50 shot hit that was in my car.. so decided a needed an upgrade.
Now if you don't do nitrous "correctly" there can be fetal consequences, so first things first, I got myself a very good nitrous controller from WON.
It arrived in the post last bank holiday when I started my install.

Alot of panels came off the car.

Started by wiring the throttle switch

New throttle pedal too!

Working in the night with a light

More mess

Next I wired in the arming switch to the controller

Some tools that were used... Why is there a glue gun there!?

Oh yes, it was to stick the laser park pro which came off! :P

Checking, checking then double, triple, quad-rople checking the wiring

Put ignition on, then arm switch to check if all is working

A few days later.... to this morning, infact!
Tonneau arrives in the post! Cut my finger pushing this into place!

Neighbour polishes his gorgeous UK spec AE86... Decide to take a pic.. :dummy:

Velcro dots arrive in the post! So cheap, yet so damn useful!

One last look at the maximiser before it gets "hidden"... Settings all adjusted for progressive hit... 30bhp - 100bhp.

Dots stick on nicely

Mounted under the passenger footwell on the airbag module thingy...

Everything wrapped with insulated tape. One final check of the wiring

Everything put back in its place ready for a static test....

Static test is successful. Change jets to 75bhp and then 100bhp ones!
Can you believe something SO SMALL can bring SO much pleasure.... oh yes you can, remember what you see everytime you go to the toilet?

Jets plugged in successfully... Ready for the test run with my 370 - 380bhp!
Thoughts on my new found power....
So by 4pm I had everything wired up, the passenger panels, switches, and all that other crap put back into place... Did the static test one last time to see if everything was squirting ok.. seemed fine, but only reved upto 6000rpm when my redline is 6800... (50 jets)
I then went to replace the jets to 75's and static test again, same result... I decided to put everything back together and take the car out for a spin. Took it on one country road, put it into 2nd, armed the switch, nailed it.... wow.... power! lol
Pulled immediately into a petrol station to inspect the maximiser settings. Saw that there was a 4 sec build from 25% - 100% power. Decided to reduce this to 2 seconds. Pulled the car out of the station and from 2nd I nailed it again... felt much quicker.... A little bit of wheel spin, not much though!
Got home, opened the hood, changed to 100's. Static test again, squirted fine by the sounds of it. Went out for another spin... Took it on the same road... hit the throttle... & away!! LOL. Rev counter spurting up like anything! So much so that my DVD player behind my seat was pushed out of its place!
First impressions is the controller is brilliant... Making the nitrous ALOT more smoother in its delivery of power. The 100 shot I still feel like it isn't enough. Car is close to 380bhp with the nos but I still feel like I need to be pushed back more. I think I've reached close to the limit of the stock block though. I do love the N/A power but am very inclined towards a turbo or supercharger.
May chop the car in for an MORE-bhp R34 GT-R sometime if I can afford to. Meanwhile I'm sure the maximiser + 100shot should keep me going til then. I know that power isn't everything but sometimes I do feel like it is! Tuning the zed Vs Buying a tuned skyline... hmm....
Nitrous controllers make the delivery MUCH smoother then the fixed hit while saving you money on nitrous and fuel. I even feel that the progressive 100shot is wheelspinning less then my fixed 50shot was and is VERY much quicker.
If any 350z owners are wanting to go down this route, then I'll be more then happy to help... My PM box is always open!

Nice thread but I hate to break it to you....you need to turn that bottle 90 degrees to the left (moving the bottom to the left). As in the valve facing towards the car and the bottom towards the rear....you may not have a problem but the reason I'm telling you this is under acceleration the pickup is at the bottom and rear of the bottle. N20 will be sloshed back towards this area where the pickup is. As you have it, when the bottle starts getting low, you may have air then surge then air then surge from the pickup having trouble sucking up the N20.
How did you perform these "static tests" when you changed jet sizes?
got556, you don't have to turn that bottle so it's going front to back, relative to the car. You can have it sideways, you just have to rotate the bottle so the bottom of the tube inside the bottle is angled toward the back of the car. Of course, you should always elevate the top side of the bottle in relation to the bottom side of the bottle.

I perform the static test in the same way by holding the revs from 2 - 3K and then activating the throttle microswitch to see if its squirting okay in the manifold.
The only difference would be the speed the revs rise I imagine.
