Default N20 install progress

Shearing the progress I mad on my nitrous install so far. I don’t have much time to work on the Z car as I have a few other projects I have to complete for the upcoming race season. Hopefully this Saturday I will have the time to finish it up. Anyway my setup is as follows.

NX EFI kit
NX switch center
NX liquid filled N20 pressure gauge
NX bottle warmer
NX blow down
Low fuel pressure switch
Dyno tune purge kit (got it for free)
Dyno tune fuel rail fitting
UTEC with map switch (still waiting for MAP switch to show up)
AEM UGEO wideband
N2MB WOT BOX /Nitrous controller

When all said and done I plan to run up to 150 shot with some race fuel stock motor. But for now im starting off with 100 shot lean to drive with the nitrous them up the anti later down the line. The install is pretty simple just a lot of routing wires, soldiering etc. Plan was to play with the z this summer and take some dime off the other car but plans have changed. Will keep updating this thread whenever I get more work done. Excuse the filthy car it has bin sitting in the shop for a while just collecting dust.

Is that an ideal place to mount the bottle? I know instruction say to mount the bottle facing towards the front of the car to maximize the feed line in the bottle. I mounted the bottle the same as you did in a previous car and had issues because of it. In a z there arent too many options though

You don't want to install the bottle in that orientation, but as you said, we don't have much room to work with.

The install looks good so far, OP. Can I see how you routed your wiring and your lines, though? Just seeing how others are doing it, compared to mine.

Keep us updated on your progress.

What problem did you have with bottle installed in that formation? Buddy of mine has the bottle mounted the same way in his mustang with no problems. That’s the most secure place i could come up with to mount it in the Z. I want it to be easily accessible so i can pull it out and put it back with no fuss.

I didn’t take any pictures of how the wires are but they are all tucked under the big plastic thing covering the wiper motor. I kind of had the entire front end of the car apart so it was easy to do. I cut a hole in the rubber grommet for the driver side harness entering the car and slipped the 3 wires thru there into the car. Hopefully i get to finish the car soon, roads are covered in snow anyway so no rush.

Why don't you call a shop for a quote if you want to know how much it'd be installed?

Also, don't ask "noob questions" here, especially in somebody else's thread. Search to find your answers.

is that your switch center above your gauge? i only see three switches, the dynotune center has 4 (arming, purge, opener, heater) what are you missing? also, what tuning are you doing for the 100?

Yes it is, has 4 switches just like the dyno tune unit at half the price. The first switch is a 3 way switch, down is heater, up is armed and middle is off (neutral). Works perfect

Local tracks opens this weekend, i just need to finish up some suspension stuff and the car will be ready for the dyno then track

I wired it so i can have the heater on when the system is armed as well as unarmed. haven't done any tuning yet just tested it on a 75 shot. I ordered bigger jets that should show up this weekend i think.

where did you route the nos line from the trunk? Did you drill a hole or is there a spot somewhere with a grommet? I cant decide how to run the nos line.
Thanks,

I drilled a hole and used a rubber grommet. I comes up next to the chilled seat bracket in the truck so didn’t have to cut the rug.

UPDATE

Finished up everything a few weeks back tested it with a 80 shot and car pulls nice. Registration on the car has expired so I didn’t take it too far from my garage. I still have to install the test pipes, will do that after i pass the emission test. All in all it was a super simple install and I added a few things along the way like exhaust, drag radials and some suspension parts.

I loaded it on the trailer and took it to the dyno last nigh but couldn’t pick up a tack signal for some reason. It was real late (12:15am) so packed it up and went home. Will take it back in a few weeks to do a few different maps with the UTEC.

Only had my phone with me at the garage to snap some pix. Ill have some better ones of the finish product soon.
