Default Looking to buy a Nitrous Oxide setup ADVICE APPRECIATED

Hey everyone!
Out of impulse/curiosity, I am wanting to put together a nitrous setup for my 2004 350z. I would like to have a safe, fun set up. As of right now, I believe 50-75 shot is my best option. Researching on this has run me into a lot of confusion, haha. If anyone with knowledge or personal experience can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Again, I'm wondering what parts are crucial to have a safe set up (bottle warmer, gauge, etc.) and any brand recommendations. Thanks in advance everyone!
-James

And on a side note, I would not FREQUENTLY USE* this, it would only be a once and a while use.

well its late, so youre not going to get fried by the other members until they get to work tomorrow morning and are waiting for thier coffee to kick in.. haha.

First off, DavidV is going to pop in and post a picture of the search button.

Please use it becuase those of us on here often try to smack down the multitudes of threads that go over the same data over and over... we know youre all excited about your idea and what not etc etc... but its lame sometimes, and other times its just a way for us to not feel bad about railing someone online and know we had good reason. I will spare you from that, yet still give you some needed tough love... ha.

SO.
back to your question.
50 hp of nitrous is "pointless" .....and doing it without a tune is saved for Chevy 350 engines that only cost 900 dollars to completely replace from SUmmit racing.. welcome to Nissan..totally different ball game.

I say all this as I am currently planning my nitrous system as well.. theres a thread called the big bad nitrous thread.. ( search function). you most certainly would benfit from reading this.

You "need" ( to have it done correctly, not just the biggest baddest way.. just done right) wideband afr gauge, electrical nitrous pressure gauge, a wet nitrous system ( im staying far away from ZEX.. every thread is a bad question or install problem thread), and a UTEC.

nitrous done right is about two grand. Youtube it and youll see why its worth every penny.

And as a by product, all the FI giys will hate you because they spent five times that. I personally dont have a credit card like that... so NOs it is. Guess Im a b#tch but so beit.

What ive told you has been fueled by Blue Moon Hefeweizen and chicken wings consumed in the last hour... and is also based partially on my opinion, but mostly on FACT.
Im not even asking what other mods you have done.. becuase it doesnt matter at this conversation level.. nos needs a tune and proper supporting items to be done right and ive pointed you in the direction of the info youre looking for.Aside from data.. the BEST advice i can give you?

Make friends w a local shop, support local and forum vendors.. MOST sell as low as ebay, especially if you ask... but you"ll support the community and make the right friends.
buy what they tell you.
make sure you have a piggyback or a tune done with it.

DONT BLOW UP YOUR CAR> why buy nitrous if you dont want to USE IT? Just do it right and feel free to pour it on.
Im repeating myself now.. i blame beer.
Im out.
(drops mic, walks off stage)

I appreciate it, I am aware people jump into threads and rip on certain questions. However, I have searched around but its nice to have a conversation with a group of people rather than a plain paragraph on a webpage I found on Google. Which is what seems some what contradicting to me, I imagine a 350z forum is for communicating with other members and asking about multiple experiences/personal advice, but I guess not everyone feels that way. But thanks again man, its nice to see some friendly members still on here.

no problem.

See this? This is a wing....... yer under it.

No but seriosuly, i hear ya...and the bashing is actually pretty fun. Some of the funniest pictures i have EVER seen posted online come from just this...but use PMs for convos, and use search for facts. There you can see who the pros are, and seek them out w PMs.
And i didnt mean google search, we like you to stay here.
the top of the page has a search button, always choose "advanced search" ( thats why people get terrible results when they dont) and chose "title only"

thats the ONLY way i get thru the pages.

Its just natural for people to appreciate intelligent questions.. reasearched questions will be aptly rewarded on this site.

have a good one.

Ah, didn't know about that, as my post count shows, I don't know how to navigate all that well around this site being that I don't come on here much.

Yeah, I've had a few run ins with him. Not the friendliest guy, pretty much a -beep-. Out of his almost 6,000 posts, I'm fairly confident 96% are just insulting comments towards other people. But hey, let the man live his life as he pleases.

FYI, a forum is a place to share information, knowledge, and experience; different from a chat room. We have a section for that purpose, called The Lounge (Off-Topic).

mharvard-
"Safe set up" is subjective, but if safety is your biggest concern then a tune is a must. Accessories are also dependent on the person, so get what you think/know is needed. Start reading the stickied threads and the threads that are relevant to your interests using the search function (click).

bmccann101-
  • 50 shot is not useless. Remember that people spend thousands on bolt-ons for like 10-20 whp. <I started out with a 35 shot to feel it out and progressively increased the shot size.>
  • you don't NEED a tune to spray nitrous, but a tune definitely allows for better and greater performance.. <I don't have a tune.>
  • you don't NEED an AFR gauge; doing a few wideband dyno pulls will give you that information. <I didn't get my AFR gauge until a year or two after I put in my set up.>

This was very helpful and I apologize, as I said previously, I'm slowly learning how to navigate around this website. Thanks for the comment

mharvard (or anyone else) - If you can't find the information you're looking for through search, do feel free to start a thread to ask the other members for help.

bmccann101 - As soon as I read the first line or two of your post, I knew you were drunk posting already. It's cool as long as it's not a common occurrence.
