From a NX 75 shot to a 150 shot!
So this project has been started, finished, then restarted again. i will post this in a timeline manor and that will explain why.
So I had swapped a rev-up VQ into my s14 over the summer. I am reaching about 800 miles since the swap. enjoying it. I decide on nitrous to be my next upgrade.
Started off getting the NX Express n2o kit
put the bottle in the trunk, duh.
Ran the line through a hole right here, and dropped it down and ran it along the fuel lines.
I have since affixed the gauge and auto bottle warmer since the pics have been taken, but haven't any new pics of it.
made a nice spot for my switches!
wot switch mounted
and wired
and nozzle is here
couldnt think of where to mount the solenoids. my set up is not a stealthy one at all. you can see the lines even when the hood is closed lol
I dont have a purge yet. still been trying to find one cheap. on a budget so yeah. I also have a zex rpm switch sitting on my living room table that I have yet to install. but that is the least of my worries.
About 1000 miles since the swap. I havent filled the bottle yet because I still have to get the timing retarded to handle the 75 shot.
BUT
I notice my dipstick getting low. damn revups. Nissan wont replace the short block because the engine isnt in the original chassis. not surprising.
so i must rebuild. Found some awesome stuff here on the classifieds for great deals. Sleeved block bored to 96mm. some h-beam rods and bearings. Getting some 96mm weisco pistons from a local vendor too.
SO i must pull everything back out.
six months to put it in, 3 hours to pull it out. that includes a trip to walmart for ratchet straps lol.
by the time I am done, I will be using the largest jets that my kit came with, 150, and I will enjoy the full reliability that i have an indestructible block
I am estimating low 11's, high 10's on drag radials.
my logic is as follows, so correct if you think it will be different:
how it was before nitrous; 12.6
with 75 shot (estimated cause i never filled bottle); 11.8
with 150 shot and engine build; 10.9
ZOMG ITS GONE!
that is it for now.

pretty much yeah lol. buying the expensive shtuff cleaned me up, and any extra I have now is going to the machine shop to balance the rotating assembly, WHICH I just dropped it all off this morning!

for 150 shot 2 step colder is too much. 4 degrees is ok for 150 shot. I would at least get a wideband to monitor you A/F to see if you are running correct jet size. I know with bolt ons sometimes the jets they recommend lean out a bit

And I am going with a 150 shot cause that was the largest jetting that came with my kit lol. Otherwise, I would push it to 200 =P

I have an FJO wideband. both NX Express and the guy that is tuning my UpRev both told me to go two step colder... I too was originally going to just use one step colder, but after two separate sources, both more knowledgeable than me, told me that two step was better, I went with it.

will the solenoids support them? I dont know what the solenoids max out at. I have the NX Express Proton Plus where both solenoids are in a little black box.
If they can keep up, I will totally put a 200 shot in there!

I have a friend with a 98 mustang build motor. He runs 3 stages of 350 shot each. That car is a beast on a straight line

dropped the crank shaft, and all other rotating parts off at the machine shop to have the rotating assembly balanced. They asked for the flywheel and pressure plate, so i gave them the stock ones casue that is all i have in the garage. I havent yet bought new ones yet.... I hope that wasnt too terrible of a decision.... cause i DO plan on getting a new flywheel/clutch before everything goes back together.

It's strictly a 1/4 mile car
