Help Me Understand?
Guys - Like most of ya I want to max out my VQ35 ( in a G35 coupe ) for performance. From a cost factor it seems that nitrous would be the best bang
for the buck ( no pun intended! ), especially for people such as myself that have paid for & added N/A stuff that would need to be changed out later to run a T/T setup ( headers & probably cams ) or a S/C ( well, headers could stay here ). So why are several of ya'll selling your squeeze kits in favor of F/I?
I know that it depends on each individual but with a full nitrous setup running $1500-$2k or so versus $6k+ for F/I, what gives?
The nitrous is an on-demand/as needed mod while the F/I kits run 100% of the time, albeit not always on boost so in theory at least, nitrous is easier on the engine. It's also removable if necessary for warranty work. And unless I've missed something ( & that's why I'm posting here - desire input
), U can make the same power w/ nitrous ( 400 flywheel HP or so ) on the factory fuel system as any of the F/I kits I've seen tested. Granted, nitrous delivery isn't always linear BUT it can be with the proper software or a control module such as the Jacobs MasterMind so U don't slam your internals with a sudden jolt of 100 HP!
My motivation here is to make a final decision ( yeah - SURE!!
) on my future plans for increasing power so that I don't have to remove parts. Right now I can go either nitrous or F/I but from this point forward my engine changes need to go in one non-reversable direction as the cams/heads I'm considering will involve serious $$ & downtime that I don't care to repeat!!
Just wanted to get feedback from ALL viewpoints. TIA!!

Good point fluidz, i went with a nitrous setup for one reason im pretty happy with the way my car has been performing i run 13.6 all day long with my 5AT with just bolt ons, but i needed that edge once in awhile that little extra WOOO HOOOO, unfortunatly i cant afford a F/I setup or else i would prolly be TT or SC right now.....But i do plan on in the future going with some sought of FI as soon as the funds open up!!!!
