Bottle Pressure???
Hey guys,
I live in Miami, and the summers here are unbearable. I was wondering what would happen if my car is in the hot sun all day long and my bottle is in there. Would the bottle blow up?? I would think it easily gets over 100 degrees inside a car here. Do you guys think i would have a problem with that? I dont want the damn bottle to blow up. I think my kit came with some emergency release valve or somthing? Is that what would take care of high pressure??
Thanks,
Eddie

Blow off caps which come standard on all bottles are set to blow at 3000 psi (for NX anyway) so 100 deg is not going to blow it, I have had mine up to 1600 psi and the bottle was hot to the touch.
I over heat my bottle to transfer the remaining nitrous from a bottle with 2-3 lbs in it to a fuller one, which I put in the freezer to drop the pressure. By doing this I am able to transfer all the remaining nitrous rather than try to fill up a partial bottle. Most shops do not like to do this and you do not get as good a fill as from an empty bottle.
However, I still wouldn't recommend that you leave the bottle in the car all day at temps over 100 deg.

I live in South Florida as well and even use a bottle heater during the summer. MY bottle is in my wheel well in the trunk (g35 sedan) and I have never had an issue. You won't build up enough pressure to cause a burst. One time I left the bottle heater on and the burst blew, but it is easily replaceable and it didn't do any damage except fill my car up with nitrous smell.

So do you always leave the bottle in there or do you just put it in when you know you are going to use it. I want to leave it in there at all times, but like i said, i though it was not a good idea. Just wanted to know if everyone else kept it in the car all all times. So your positive that even with the hottest weather here i shouldnt have to worry about the pressure going high enough to release the valve??
Thanks,
Eddie
I never take the bottle out unless I am refilling it. You'll never know when you'll need it. I keep the bottle closed until its time to go. I have a remote bottle opener to open it when necessary.
Hope this helps.

My kit is in FINALLYYY!! This **** is awsome. I got my car last night after a day of it being at the shop getting installed. I got the NXKit with the GENX2 Package. I feel like a little kid with his new toy. I was out last night trying people left and right. The purge kit is awsome, as soon as people pull up to me i let them know whats going on and they just back off. Damn this is the ****!!! By the way i didnt get the remote bottle opener so i mounted the bottle right behind the passanger seat in the hatch so that i could just reach back and open the bottle, it works out very well and i didnt have to spring for the bottle opener. What I will do is get the window switch. Do any of you guys know where i could get one and for how much?? Thanks for the post Belerin.

Whats the best pressure to have the bottle at? And how do you keep an eye on the pressure? I know you can put a gauge on the bottle, is there anyway to mount a gauge upfront so you can always have an eye on the bottle pressure and not running back and forth to check the pressure?
