i think it is only an issue if the wheels are forged. there shouldnt be a problem for the cr kai.

Anyone around here known for doing wheels? I just wish I could see some powdercoated wheels before I did it. Id just hate to pay all this money for wheels and then more to change the color and it come out bad or look cheap.

Are there any places around here that do a lot of wheel work?

Powercoating is relatively harmless. You want somebody to soda blast them rather than sand blasting - not as abrasive and you don't risk tempering the wheel by burning the old paint off with heat. The only thing you have to watch is how the new powercoat is baked on. You want somebody who has experience with wheels, as they require more careful handling than brake calipers or a frame/chassis for example.
Nope, I was just reading a thread about the 06 wheels and how some companies would use too much heat either taking the paint off or baking the powder on it. I know it was relative to how much heat they used though.

I don't know anyone who has rechromed the chrome wheels

Yah well obviously if you heat it up to quickly or cool it to quickly it will warp and screw up the stucture of the metal. I think if a person has done a good bit of wheels before they should know what they are doing. The works arn't cast tho they are forged correct? That should help some eh? Im just worried about appearence. I will choose someone who won't mess the wheels up, but has anyone seen powdercoated rims in person? Do they look good or can you tell they were powdercoated?

Yah I know I like the bronze, but I really wanted gold rims. I also loved the way the CR Kais looked and they were at a decent price, but only bronze and gunmetal.
