I'm not a big fan of straps or belts. I do all of my lifts raw.
Funny seeing a huge guy use straps to curl 50lb dumbbells, while my small *** is next to him rom. deadlifting with 110lbs in each hand.
True story
Greg, I had to start using a mixed grip when my dead started to get above 260lbs. After that, no problems doing 325x5 raw
Anyone using straps to curl, has no business in the gym. Straps are mainly designed to improve grip on heavy exercises like shrugs, barbell rows, and hybrid t-bar rows. Once you can grip better, you can focus more on the weight you are lifting.

+1 Straps and belts do serve their purpose...but using straps on curls is stupid lol....I was hammercurling 50s the other day and my grip sucks...guess some people strap up everything even when they may not need it.

It just tears my hands up, even with gloves and I start to lose grip.

Yeah I agree.
I have to use that neck pad for squats, I have a damn line going across my shoulders
I don't lift a lot of heavy weight. When I was on the juice I didn't even like to and I could. I find I get better results slowing things down and concentrating on form than trying to lift heavy weights. I am lean all year round since I am tall and skinny, but it is easy to get ripped. My gf likes me more now at 180 than when i was 206.
My ideal weight is 160-170lbs leaner than I am now. I shouldn't have a problem maintaining my athleticism at that weight.
Yeah Greg I saw pics of you at z days. Look real lean. You have good strength too for being that size. I think I read where you can max 300? That's impressive. I need to get back in the gym.
How do I lose my belly? I used to be pretty slim bout 175lb while I was in school but when I graduated I stopped working out for almost 4 years and recently started again bout 6 month but cant for nothing to get my belly down(current wt is 195). I run 3 miles a day(used to do 6). I admit my diet isnt all that great but I cut a lot of snack and soft drinks down but daym belly wont go slim for nothing.
