Well I'm not wanting to stretch it to the limit... just wanting less sidewall. It's looking kinda silly right now ( in my opinion ). I just want a slight curve over on the wall... if that makes ANY sense.

I could make a suggestion, but I would need to know what size and offset wheels you are running first and suspension, if any?

I believe he said it is an 18x10.5. I don't see what the suspension or offset have to do with it. He just wants to stretch a tire.

I just poked around in this thread a little: https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-...s-welcome.html

Seems like an aggressive stretch on a 10.5 is a 245 tire. I can tell you a 285 is near vertical sidewall. So split the difference for a moderate stretch? 265??

That has everything to do with it lol...offset/suspension determines how much of a gap he has to work with from the tire and the fender.

I understand what you're saying but... Did you read his question?

Clearly his set-up already fits inside his fenders. He said he wants to stretch the tire more as he doesn't like the beefy tire look. That is not going to change his offset or suspension height, and only going to create more space between tire and fender. Therefore I would say those things don't matter in this case. He didn't ask you to help him make the wheel setup more flush.

Exactly... I don't want a MASSIVE stretch.. just a lil more curve in the sidewall. Maybe a 275 35 18 will give the the look. I seen another guys set up that looked pretty cool. Then I gotta figure out the front.. I guess I'll just do -35- on front and rear. That should do the trick...thanks.
If not someone please correct me before I flush more dough haha.

Umm, I'm no expert on the stretched tire but I thought you said you were already on a 275? The tire size you mentioned will not be a stretched tire, it will just have a shorter sidewall. (35% of 275) Stretching the tire would mean running a narrower tire on a similar ratio sidewall. something like 255/35/18

No I don't want a stretched tire... and I'm running 275-40-18, I also said I don't know what the hell I'm talking about haha. I thought if I did a 275-35-18 it would put a little more curve in the sidewall. Not straight up and down. Am I still wrong? haha. I need to know before I buy tires.

A 275 is a 275. Same width, so no it wont be any different. The 35 will make the sidewall smaller, maybe that is what you're looking for. On a 10.5 wheel i wouldn't go any smaller than 275. 275/35 would be fine for your rear, but i wouln't run it. Too small of sidewall and you need to be quite low for it to look good on an 18" wheel.

What are you using your car for? Any autox or spirited driving, or just puttin around? All of this would determine what tire size to,run and what tire. Theres a lot that can go into planning your wheel and tire setup and your suspension. Do it right the 1st time so your not blowing money to make it right after you have ****ed it up.

Pics would help. And, you'd probably be happier with 275/35/18.

But his fronts are only 8.5, so what would he run up there that wouldn't buldge like he doesn't like? 235/40's? That's the best i can think of. Sidewall should be about the same as the 275/35 while not being too tall and not buldging out. Hell, i run 265/35 up front and i think the sidewall is too skinny. Im jumpimg up to 275/35 up front next time around.

Thats what I would do if I were him. So, in conclusion:

18x8.5 - 235/40/18
18x10.5 - 275/35/18

Great advice. Why I'm still not settled how to go w/a wheel & tire set up too.

Here it is from the side... It doesn't look horrible, but sometimes it just looks like way too much sidewall. It's setting on Buddy Club spec r dampers, but only lowered about 1.5"... I think the 35 series would be good. I usually just put around in it with an occasional aggressive drive. I'll stop bothering you now haha.

Hello to all the Ohio owners. I'm located in Centerville which is about 45 minutes north of Cincy. I've been trying to read as much as possible, but I am having some trouble on finding out what thread the REVUP is in to know if I have/don't have/need to care about it. I have owned it for two days and find that from time to time my *** catches fire then I look at the console...

What year do you have? Revup is a engine designation that was only available in 06. Sounds like you have heated seats though. That would mean you have a touring... or grand touring? I think those are the only trim levels that came with the heated leather seats.
