I did mine. Upper A-Arms are super easy. Two bolts accessed from inside the wheel well and one ball joint nut. You will immediately need an alignment though. Otherwise, I'm sure Kenny can get you set up quickly.

Any tips for re-welding a cut exhaust? I am re-installing my stock exhaust system on the car, and we had to cut it to remove. It's a fairly clean cut, and I'd assume it just needs to be welded. I just don't want it to crack or leak over time.

See Kenny at Muffler's and More. He will hook you up - if you look on the prior page, Mekatoka (Deepu) posted a link to his website. BTW, we do not get kickbacks or anything - Kenny is just a stand up guy that does great work, plus I attend track days with him.

I guess I spoke too soon The BMW thing overheated yesterday, and I figured a real mechanic ought to look at it, since my efforts didn't seem to work.

Were you on State Street today morning? I thought I saw you, I was slightly ahead of you at the light in an Altima

Sorry to hear it didn't work out
Its always a good feeling when you fix something yourself.

Especially just diagnosing it yourself and working on it til you get it right...

Looks like it is something major, for your sake I hope its something simple
Water pump is prob the big culprit at this point looks like you did about everything else..hahah

Good luck

I was on State St. around 10AM. I took the BMW to Arbor Motion, just south of I94 off of State St., and my work is just north of I94 right off of State too.

I should hear today as to whether I popped a head gasket, or if there's a blockage, or it's just the water pump.

When I dropped it off, I found out part of what happened (I was a basket case right afterwards, and the engine compartment was hot):
When it started overheating, the pressure built up near the upper coolant hose and popped it off the thermostat housing. It explains the popping/coolant explosion that happened about a minute before I was able to get it home. I just hope the overheating wasn't too bad... It was only in the red zone for about a minute.

Welcome back Ali!

The car looks great!!! Love the side skirts.

Rob, nice suggestion on the wheels. I assume you suggested them for Ali?

http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=5887

My bad, they're $1299. Still hella cheaper than Volks. But if you can find some good used volks then that maybe a better deal

You can also order tires and lugs as a package.

Call up wheeldude and see what he can do for you

Woo-Hoo!!! Was there any doubt she'd pass up a catch like you?

Look forward to hear the details on where and when you asked. (You can save it for the cabin trip)

Congratulations to the both of you!
