Default New 350Z under MSRP

I have been looking at a couple of dealers in Northwest Indiana for a few weeks now. I finally put a deposit down on a CS Performance model last week at Napleton Nissan in Schererville, IN. It is in stock and $1500 off MSRP.

On Friday, the 24th, I got a call from Southlake Nissan in Merrillville, IN offering me $200 to $300 over invoice, that was a little shocking. Since I already placed my order, I told my dealer, and I am getting a discount on an extended warranty. I am not sure if Southlake Nissan will ship or if anyone wants to deal with the hassle of buying far away, to each his own.

After hearing the horror stories of people paying thousands over invoice, I wanted to let everyone know what I'm finding out here.

Anything's possible. They are very interested in getting them off the lot. If I hadn't already put my order in at another dealer I'd go back to them. Maybe see if they'll include shipping at $500 over invoice. It can't hurt. I think the Sales Manager's name is Joe, but I also talked to Renee.

Be aware they, like most dealers, will know much less about the car than an enthusiast.

Let me know what they say.

Good luck

simstad,

I live in Indianapolis, I plan on buying a Z in March. What do you know about Southlake Nissan? Was the $200-$300 above invoice for vehicles you order or ones in their inventory. I might be interested in driving up there to purchase.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

They didn't say. But they knew I was looking for a CS Performance and they said they could get it. I think they also have a CS Track(used) with 1700 miles for $31,900, not bad.

Just to be clear, I did not buy there, they called me after I ordered with another dealer, and I used their call with my dealer to get alum. kickplates and a trunk mat at no charge.

I drove by there the other day and they have about 6 on the lot.

Just curious.

Has anyone else delt with Southlake nissan. Does anyone know if they are actually selling Z's that low. I tried calling Joe today. I called late, the dealership wasn't open. I guess I'll try on Monday.

After the constant frustration I have had with my local Cincinnati dealers, this deal with the Southlake Nissan dealer is VERY appealing. I emailed them today requesting more info. Will post again once they get back to me.

So, where exactly IS Southlake?

Matt,

Southlake Nissan is in Merryville. It's near chicago in the north west corner of Indiana. Which one are you interested in? I emailed them yesterday about the Blue touring Nissanusa.com says they have.

To Matt and oneZ,

It's Merrillville, not Merryville. They are on U.S. 30, 3 mi. East of I-65, phone no. is 219-947-1600. My Dealer in Schererville called them last week to confirm their counter-offer to me and said they are standing by the deal. He said that the March 1 deadline for inventory tax in Indiana is coming up, so they are probably looking to sell to avoid the tax. Also, the more Z's a dealer sells the more allocation he gets.

Get the best deal you can, but if Southlake doesn't work out, try Napleton Auto Werks (219-865-3800) in Schererville, IN, Sean Gaines has been great. I pick mine up this week from there.
