I've never seen any real group of Z's parked at the Dream Cruise as it is obviously themed towards classic domestic rides. If you have never been to the Dream Cruise you'll want to park your cars and walk around anyways since driving on Woodward is impossible.... a mile has taken me 45 minutes.
If you guys can make it earlier in the week you can get some good cruising on Woodward at night as there will be bad *** cars all over the place.

Help (Need supervision to change my brake pads)
Can one of you guys please help me change my brake pads on the car? I have never done this and want to learn to do it.
I know we have plans to meet on Aug 16, but I have a track day on Aug 13th so I want to get this done this weekend (Aug 8/9).
Thanks
Deepu

I agree with Jeff there really is no spot to meetup.
It is such a big event, that you really can't meet anywhere close to woodward.
Deepu I sent you a PM back on the brakes.
Did you look at the DIY for brakes in the forums?

Thanks AJ, did check your PM And replied to it.
I did not look at the DIY yet, because I did not want to attempt this without someone directing me. I am so not good at these things and so I want to make sure I learn the right way to do it
Rob, I might go for the pad change this weekend (8/9) OR the at the next meet on 8/16. I am still researching the pad to purchase.

I got Carbotech's directly from the manufacture (XP10 FR / XP8 RR) I read some really good things about them, and my co-workers like them a lot too. I'd recommend giving them a call deepu and talk to the guy, he'll help you pick out the best setup.
I haven't run them yet (obviously) but I'll probably install mine when you install yours

How are the brake pads working out for you when you drive on the street? At the moment I would say that I am using my car 75% track + 25% street. But if that changes in the future and I do a bit more street driving I don't want to be the guy with annoying brake squeal on the street.
The stock brakes have held very good for me so far, but I see that my pace is picking up and I am braking harder compared to earlier. Originally, wanted to try hybrid pads (street + track ) but looked like for my usage I am better off with entry level track pads. I expect to do atleast 4-5 more track days this year.
I was considering Fedoro DC2500, they sell for about 200$ both front/read on TopBrake website. Have you read anything about them?
I will let you know if I plan to install by Wed/Thurs this week.

Rob if you have changed them on your 4 runer it will be the same on the Z.
If you guys do them Sat I can swing in after work and help real quick.
Its really simple so long as your rotors are still good.
Deepu read the DIY man, its pretty straightforward.

I had a rock thrown at my car destroying one of the pillars when I owned a Z... Got numerous of tickets with the Z too for I **** you not... I was NOT speeding...
Got the Lotus and been pulled over twice both well deserving of a ticket. Both times the cop just wanted to talk about the car and let me off.
Michigan + Japanese car = hell
but Solor pearl is beautiful on a Z! You'll have to join us all for ZdayZ next year! I can swear that its the best time that a car person can have! oh... a car person that enjoys booze!

Keep an eye posted on this site and you'll see postings of people getting together... come meet up when things are going down.... even though I'm not one to talk as I miss 90% of the get togethers.

I can't see for sure if it's a 1965 or 1966 Corvette. The three side vents definately says 65 or 66. If the grille is all horizontal bars, then it's a 65. If it's horizontal and vertical waffle-like pattern then it's a 66.
These are some great shots! Looks like you all had a good time!

Nice pics guys.
I haven't had any problems really, but I live on the west side so people over here mostly own foreign cars its kind of funny.
That is a 66 Vette by the way, my dad had 4 total one while I was alive, it looks like he tried to make it a Grand Sport Knockoff a little, either way cool that he is racing it.
Whats goign on Saturday?

Cool pics! Where did you get that one of me, the Subie and the Z3? I set that one as my desktop background...Deepu, the Carbotech pads are very good. I ran AX6/Panther Plus on my S2000 - those were hybrid pads. The XP10/XP8 pads can be used on the street, but they are VERY noisy. Although it is a PITA, with your Brembos, you can easily change pads at the track if you want. I sent you a PM regarding changing your pads. BTW, your pads are much easier to change than the non-brembo brakes. I think, and I may be wrong, that you have to remove the caliper to change the pads on the non-brembo brakes.
