depending on what year your Z is, the viscous came stock late 05-06. I was running the stock viscous LSD with twins, motor wasn't built yet. It handled the power o/k, kind-of a one wheel wonder around corners, and I couldn't leave the famous back to the future tire marks. I had the 2-way Carbonetic put in last year. Almost night and day, the back end is really easy to kick out-sometimes to easy. Achieved back to the future tire marks. I don't know if that helps but as fare as traction I would compare a posi-rear end to a limited slip, that is the difference.

Cool, if you need more info about the LSD's I will try and help. if I wanted to drag my Z I would need slicks/drag radials. I have PS2's & R1's on last year, the PS2 would brake loose at 4500 rpm's, the R1's would skip/hop really badly on 3000 rpm's launches and brake loose at 5000 rpm's. I had the same problem with my 944(different rpm's) 26' tire on a 15 inch rim. MT-Et/Street with 15psi sure helped that.

bastid!
Nice pics, Steve. Finally, your car is clean! However, your engine isn't as clean as that Z32!
I've been thinking that for a long time. Maybe Steve is grooming his daughters...
ORLY?
Should have asked me first... I could have steered you in the right direction.

I think we need to have a chat sometime. I think I may be able to learn a thing or two from you.
I did a full price out of my build today as well and it will be cheaper than i thought so it may be done sooner than i thought as well. Also are we still going to F&F3 on friday?

Thanks, Nick. I am pretty much a dumb a**, but I do have some experience with the Z gladly help. Zivman knows his sh** you could ask him just to be sure. And good luck with engine, it wouldn't be needed but it helps

I used them on my motor. they were to do the machining and they were 'supposed' to assemble the motor. they are complete idiots, quoted me 2 weeks, and it was there for 12! They didn't assemble it. In fact, they never even opened the shop manuals they requested from me.... They talked a HUGE game about how good they were and in the end, couldn't figure out how to put the motor together..
Some of the highlights:
They were to put JWT springs and shims in the heads. They call me one day asking about the springs I gave them in a bag labeld 'JWT'..... hmmm I said, ummmmm those are the new springs for the heads; the reply I got was, "well, I guess those will have to be redone"
They gave me a full quote WITH assembly included. They somehow managed to go 25% over the quote without assembling the motor
Then there was the lack of communication.... don't even get me started on that
Long story short, if you are building a 4 banger honda motor, or a built ford windsor, they might be the shop for you. If you are building a VQ, go to another shop. In the future, I will be using headwerks in bloomington
