I can't believe the week I've had. Well, the whole month. I got a ticket for having a 'dog at large.' Then Tara gets a speeding ticket on 35E by 494. Then I get chewed out by 3 different people at work, all of whom get very little respect from me anyway. Now my mom has a bill sent to me from a collection agency that I'm supposed to take care of. LOL... it's not my month. WTF

 

If you guys wanna meet up this Saturday, i'd be down. Not going anywhere this weekend.

Oh not good, Dave. I almost got a ticket today. Cop had his lights on and was turning around before i lost sight of him. I think he got caught up in cars coming the direction i was going (one lane each way and chargers dont turn on a dime lol)

Then i went into a neighborhood and didn't see him again lol Phew.

If we do anything on Saturday, it'll have to be late afternoon or evening. Tara is going to Hudson for a few yours, so I'll be home with the boys. I'm taking them to the community pool after lunch, but then we'll be back in the afternoon.

I was thinking we could go for a cruise Saturday night.

Well, I'm home for the rest of the day so if anyone wants to swing by and hang out I'll be cleaning and organizing the garage. Just bought some storage shelves, and I'm going to throw out a bunch of stuff.

So after some talking with the wife I told her I'm takin a voluntary layoff this winter and going back to school to go get my CDL. It's a two month program that goes mon-fri 7am to 3pm. I've stayed at my current job far to long and have destroyed most of my body working there. There is no way I'm going to be able bodied in my 50s if I stay where I'm at. My main interest in lookin for a new job is to have a job that has a pension. There will be no social security when I retire and the job I'm at now has an ESOP program but its just not that filling.. I cant wait for this winter to come along and start my new life.

 

That's cool, Greg. At least you're putting some thought into it and looking ahead into the future. I read an article the other day which said that Congress and lots of supporters want to change the SS retirement age to 70. I don't think my kids or I will ever see a SS payment. At least I have a pension and 401k to put food on the table. I just need to stop moving and pay off a house.

BTW, I'm looking around the Lake Minnetonka area for the meet and cruise tonight. We want to avoid the construction in town, so I figured we'll head out west in a nice area. I'll post up the plan and directions soon. Looking at the map now.

Ming Wok in Excelsior looks good. There's a parking lot near there just south of 2nd St and west of West Dr. Scott, Greg, and I will drive together over there and park. I was thinking we could do dinner there at about 6pm.

 

no driving for me for a bit, i just barely escaped the hail coming back from car craft. and greg, what do you mean go to school to get your CDL, you could go get your cdl on monday if you wanted to. i got my permit and liscence in the same day. and i have a tanker endorsment.
