buying a brembo bbk for my evo...
do I buy the 350mm kit with the 'high thermal capacity' rotors? a couple hundred bucks more than their 355mm kit, but the rotors are about 4 lbs a piece heavier.... The rotor ring is about 15mm bigger.. "larger Annulus"
or do I buy their 355mm kit? Both kits have the same 6 piston monoblock calipers. The brembo rep is kind of pushing the 350 high thermal kit, but not sure I need it... not that I 'need' either kit, but if I am spending the big money, I feel like I should buy their best - save for their GT-R kit.
Both kits require me to use 18" wheel
please don't say say stay with the stock brembos. Been there, done that.

this high thermal rotor is fairly new. it is a taller ring 68mm vs 53.5mm, 34mm thick vs 32mm, it is a 72 vane vs 48 vane. the kit uses a taller pad as well. same shape, but taller due to the taller rotor ring. I believe the rotors were offered on the porsche GT3s originally

Got mine at NY auto and online! The wheel regimen is the best I've used ever....I did it on the Volks I have and definitely brought them back to brand spanking new status and it doesn't have harsher bases and quat formulas like most wheel cleaners do. I also have the hydrate/quick detailer, haven't tried it yet. I would like to see what diff compounds he uses to make his reflective paste ($69); priced hella high. I don't believe anyone stocks it past the east coast yet.....Imola is the only private shop that might.

the Z has a 355mm kit, but it has the older style 4 piston calipers (2 piece, labeled 'B' or F50 calipers) They offer the same setup for the evo, but they have since brought to market an updated caliper -> their 6 piston monoblock.

True....yet, how much fun can we really have until you start breaking things?! On that note, if I don't get that ford 9" in the TA 600hp isn't moving anywhere fast, I will be sitting w housing full of metal non-collectibles the clutch upgrade has been nice and stiff tho, new driveshaft helped mucho as well. Nonetheless, need massive brake upgrade.

Not a GM fan, but I'd rock a WS6

The subframe has been replaced.. I had whiteline bushings pushed into it before I mounted it so i should never have to drop it again.
It's mounted back into the car, and the diff, arms hubs, brakes, etc are all re-attached.
I'm waiting on some bolts that were damaged by the previous owner's apparent "Hella Flush yo" suspension setup. Once that's in i can torque everything down and be done with the rear.
Also got my new springs.. 850s for the rear, and 1200s for the front.
For the front, got the driver's side about half wrapped up. Got the rotor off, and replaced the upper arm, but need to get the strut out and re-assembled with the new springs. Passenger side still needs to be started.
Nothing like buying a car and immediately rebuilding half of it.. AMIRITE?

Did that all by yourself? Or did you take it to a shop?

I never had to do this, but many of my good cadillacs out there have been ruined by the 22"+ fad, which sucks bc other than the old folks young idiots are ruining a lot of these cars...G's also some Z owners share in this fad and fkn ruin everything, same goes for Lexus but never seen a mxaima like that, so there are some safe zones at least. Price point always makes the difference. But on the postive note you got to learna whole new aspect of your recent aqusition

The only thing I farmed out to a shop was having the bushings pressed into the new subframe. Everything else was done in my garage between myself and my roommate. It wasn't hard, it was just alot of work.
I've been Autoxing for over a decade now.. i've been through a few suspensions before.
From the pictures i got of the car initially, it honestly didn't look very low.. it the visual was thrown off by smaller diameter tires than stock that were also stretched.
That being said, i got the car pretty well below market and the engine, transmission, and diff all appear to be in great shape. That's the stuff i have a harder time dealing with.

Note to self, never buy any bizarre cambered or offset style approached cars,
