North Central Racing Thread
Had perfect weather for the Waterford OTD. My car ran great - I love the new mods! Power is right there whenever I need it. After the HFCs and tune I replaced the spark plugs and PCV valve too. Just NGK LFR5A-11 plugs.
I switched to EBC Yellow brake pads for this event. They performed great for me in these 15min sessions. No fade. I'm not sure they make these for Brembo's - I decided to use my stock brakes a little longer. The ProjectMu b-force pads were fading pretty bad the last time I was out (sorry for my previous recommendations on these).
I got a ton of compliments of my exhaust sound.
The HFC's really opened it up. A couple people said it was 'the best sounding exhaust at the track'
I actually used 4th on the back straight and heal-toed to 3rd at the end. I finally got to practicing this again since the last video-taped mishap that I shared with you guys. Easing my way back into the heal-toe and I did very well.
Next stop - Grattan 9/26.
EDIT - It might be worth noting that the stick on shims that came with the EBC pads melted. The nice 'yellow' paint also melted. But they stopped good!

Too bad I couldn't make it to the Waterford OTD. I did the Alpha-Romeo track day @ Waterford. The weather was decent, it rained just after I finished my 4th session.
Nice job Steve. I just started trying to shift into 4th gear on back straight because I am hitting the rev-limiter in 3rd. Right now when I try 4th I actually loose time because I cant heel-toe yet
And am sure it will be a faster once I learn that.
Towards, the end of the first session I ran black flags. They wanted to get everyone back and for some reason I thought the guy in front of me was being black flagged
So after he went into pit lane I kept driving on and then realized I was the only one left and that everyone was being pulled in. I got red flagged for that. That was my first mistake ever. Sucked but got over it.

Ok, You will need a helmet Sat. Everyone has to wear one.. They do have rentals - and I do not think they check for a label.. so motorcycle helmet should be ok too.
Steve - What time do the gates open? What is the cost? What time do you plan on showing up, and does anyone want to caravan if there is a group of us that wants to go? Do you know if they will allow motorcycles to run incase i want to run both?

What time do the gates open? 12pm (open till 5 or 6pm - since you can basically hotlap the whole time I'm done after an hour or two taking breaks after 2-4 passes)
What is the cost? $25 for car and driver. $10 for spectators
What time do you plan on showing up, and does anyone want to caravan if there is a group of us that wants to go? Arrive around 12:30pm. It takes about an hour from Ferndale.
Do you know if they will allow motorcycles to run incase i want to run both? Yes, I have seen motorcycles there both times I have gone.

Yeah. I know. 2.1 is my best 60ft - which is good that I improved.. but still .1 or .2 sec room for more improvement.
My top trap speed of the day was 103.97mph. I ran 2.33 60ft and 14.047 on that pass.

Johnny, man your consistent.
You will run that ALL day though which is really good.
You could 14.1 bracket race your car if you wanted
Did you run your bike?
That Video would be sweet to watch...
