3ballsracing is having a track day at Grattan on the 26th (actually the 25th and the 26th). There are a ton of spots open (30+) if anyone is interested.

Had a blast at the track. At the end, I made 100 laps / 200 miles in 2 days. Many thanks to Lee for helping me find the correct line, was able to jump a run group

yea...I'm jealous of you guys. I was planning on so many track days this year, except the bonus cut / no raise / grad school killed my year.

 

Deepu, sorry I had to run yesterday. I continue to have issues with my racing brake kit. I slapped things back together for a very scary drive home - I needed to leave with the mufflers and more guys (trailer) just in case. Its too bad I could not take a run with you in group 2. I think once you learn to trust the car and yourself a bit more you will see a ton of improvement.

 

heh. I've been saying that to myself for the past couple years. Now I'm the one who missed out!! shame on me. I'll be back on the track soon. I want to tear it up mid-Aug thru September.

On Saturday I was one of the slowest in my group. Then slowly I picked up the lines and probably moved to like 3-4th fastest.
On Sunday, Lee showed me the lines that I was missing and BAM! I was fastest in my group and had to jump up as I was always behind someone.
I checked my times in the videos and one of the videos I saw I was doing 1:39-1:40. I am not sure if thats a good time there, but I am very happy.

On Sunday, I was hitting like 123mph at the end of the straightway but I was having problems doing a proper turn at turn 1.
I am glad I changed my tires for this event; the RE-11's are awesome they have a lot of grip.

 

Deepu, 1:39/1:40 is a great time. That 135i in Group 2 was running 1:36s and the supercharged Miata in Group 1 was running 1:34s.

I want to go out to Grattan some point this summer, are there any more days out there any of you are going? Thats my fav track in Michigan

I am going to be at Waterford on Aug 1 (Saturday), 4 (Tuesday) , 13 (Thursday)

 

I may sign up for that one in September though that is late in the season

Nice driving! Looks like you really handle the Z well. I am really jealous about everyone getting the RE-11's. They are an amazing tire.

By the way, the GOPRO camera was awsome. I love the way you can hear the motor and its a nice shot.
