RPM Car show July 10th. Chicago
RPM Event Series
Saturday July 10th
Soldier Field
(same day roll in!)
A new Performance car show is debuting this year. The show is being organized by the Original founder of Hot Import Nights, and the Original founder of the NCCA and F4 Challenge. Due to overwhelming support for their judging practices last year at D1GP, they have decided to debut the show here in Chicago instead of the West Coast! With the national show scene in a difficult spot, this is Chicago's chance to shine and show the Nation exactly what we have going on here.
RPM is Performance based car show. It welcomes any modified or high end performance vehicles into its fold. The show is all about the enthusiasts, who work hard on their cars to make this scene what it is. Frustrated with the way the national shows like HIN have devolved, RPM is a step back to the spirit and feel of the original HIN. With an emphasis on modified and performance cars, there is no make and model bias at this event. Domestic, Exotic, Euro,or Import, we all have the same spirit when it comes to our cars.
Check out the website here: http://www.rpmeventseries.com/
There are VIP tickets available with special access at the show.
For pre registered competitors, there is a slew of stuff for us! Upgraded VIP passes and free swag, such as event emblems and commemorative lanyards.
There are multiple awards classes for competitors, and more that can be added as more people register for the event.
In addition to regular classes ,they have a few specialty ones lines up.
Sit-n-Flush Award - How flush can you go? This year we're introducing the Sit-n-Flush award for those who took the time to get that perfect fitment!
Unique Carbon Fiber Award - This award is going to be handed out to the vehicle that utilizes carbon fiber the best. A hood is nice, but how far does your creativity for cf go? So if you have one off carbon fiber parts, here is your chance to shine!
White Glove competition! The judges are selecting the 6 cleanest cars of the event, and then doing a white glove competition to crown the best detailed car of the event. Winner gets a specialty plaque and $100!
Go to the car show section of the website and click on the PDF to read the judging criteria. Not only does is explain in detail, it gives helpful tips for getting more points.
In addition, GRD, is having a Dyno Challenge at the event. This is the chance for all you horsepower freaks to shine!

Looks like a really good time!!
I might have to plan and budget going to this one. For those from out of town, I wouldn't stay downtown. Car parks are not always low car friendly or secure. The cost to stay downtown is pretty high compared to the suburban outskirts.
If I go, I would be staying around the Oakbrook Mall. It's pretty reasonable and safe for your car overnight. The drive in is a straight shot down the Eisenhower.
