This weekend will be the 2nd annual Jawbreaker Road Rally.

Registration closed on this event, however, I am being permitted to bring some additional participants at no extra cost. I am extending it to my fellow Great Lakes Z Club members who might be interested. You will have to cover your own hotel and food expenses, but this can be pretty minimal.

For the rally, you REALLY need to have a driver (duh) and a co-driver. You are given a set of directions and it is nearly impossible for the driver to do this alone. The route last year was all back roads (a total blast) and sometimes on single lane roads.

For you Michigan folks, if you thought the Hell run was fun, this blows it out of the water. Take advantage of the opportunity to participate at no charge.

FRIDAY: August 6th
I will caravan down with anyone who wants to attend. Lee (SIG11), I assume you are still going? When are you headed down? Hopefully Clay will be returning this year too!

If you are attending an wish to head down early Saturday morning, let me know and I will give you instruction.

SATURDAY: August 7th

The rally starts in the morning at an undisclosed location. I will have this in a day or so. I can't publish it as we do not want to leak this out to the State Troopers. (Seriously)

There is a lunch stop halfway through the rally and an after-race party at a bar in downtown Cincy in which we will have the VIP section.

SUNDAY: August 8th

Sober up because we will caravan the group to another undisclosed location in Indiana where we will do indoor kart racing.

After the awards lunch we will caravan back to Michigan. (Maybe stopping for dinner along the way if it is late enough.)


IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS FREE ENTRY EVENT ...

This year's entry fee was was supposed to include SCCA autocrossing. SCCA did a last minute change and killed the Sunday race so the organizers made some changes. As an apology to the participants, they are giving refunds to those who paid entry and we are now covering our own personal expenses instead of it all being included in the package. However they are still putting on the event. (So this year is a gift to us. Jump on it!!)

I am allowed to extend this offer to attend for free to a few close friends ... so here we are. I absolutely LOVED this event last year and I will do it every year.

I highly encourage you to PM me if you are interested and can head down this weekend. I need to know soon as I will have to ask you to fill out some registration documents before attending. Just so the organizer can expect additional cars to attend.

Again, this event has no entry fee. You cover your own food, gas, hotel, kart costs and beer. Pretty cheap for a hellova good time. Plus, you may find yourself in the recap video for this event. (Can you spot my car in the 2009 recap video?)

 

Absolutely still going. I wasn't interested in autocrossing anyway. :P I wonder if we'll be at the Mainstay again... It would be nice to figure that out to get a room well within stumbling distance ahead of time.

I'm not sure what time we're leaving yet. Probably around 6 after my co-driver gets off work.

My co-driver lives in Oxford so I am headed down a little earlier to meet up with him and his wife near Dayton for dinner. I booked into the Millenium Hotel for just Sat night. I will see you at the meet spot on Sat morning. Have a safe drive.
