Default Snow Day! WOO HOO!

My drive to work is only about 4 miles down a main road. So i stop at the Pathmark right around the corner from my office and i get a call from my boss. "We're closing the office for the day". SWEET!! So i get some food and head home. I'm lucky enough to not be stuck with a work laptop or a blackberry, so it looks like a free day for me!

BTW, i DID NOT drive the Z today, nor yesterday. I drove the Murano.. gota love awd.

Anyone else get the day off too? canceled classes?

Good for you, man. I on the other hand am an A$$hole employer and just spoke to my office manager and told her to get her butt into the office (as soon as she can).

I declared to myself that the office was closed

Drove down the road, sliding the whole way...saw that the highway ramps were pretty packed with snow. Didn't feel it was safe to drive 45 miles in this weather in the Z just to read this site at work

I declared a day off for me also ---- In order to mourn those that are snowed in elsewhere

And I agree --Its senseless to shut down the computer, risk death by driving 45 miles only to boot up and do the same thing ur doing now.

Eh being a ***** is one thing, having road crews that can't keep up with the rate of sleet falling is another. It's really not too safe for anyone to drive right now around here. I'm going to try to go in later today if the sleet stops falling and they can clean up these roads a bit. Snow tires only work so well.

I attempted to declare the day off on Monday, but that didn't work (don't get me started on that).

So I told two of my managers that if it was bad, I wasn't coming in period. I've taken maybe 6 days vacation and I have been there for 8 months. I am not about to go run around in the ice in the Z, when pretty much the entire state is shut down.
