with the winter being a big factor here in the northeast, is it just me or does it seem like 98% of the wheels for sale in the classifieds are all on the west coast?

anyone considering selling there rims come spring time?

I'm still running stock 18's and i'm spending night and day on the forums looking at rims trying to decide what i'll go with.

(btw please dont move this to the classifieds, my intentions for this thread is more of a discussion... curious what peeps plans are for the coming season...maybe pics of what you have and what your think you'll go to?)

Well it probably doesn't help you as far as I'm not selling these, but I just bought a new set of PIAA Super Rozza's in silver, 19x9 f, 19x10 r +25 all around with toyo t1r 245/35/19 f and 275/35/19 r. Putting them on my magnetic black 2006 Z coupe hopefully by the end of March. See pics below when I received the rims. I'm getting Hotchkis springs installed in the next week or so, then an alignment a couple weeks after when everything settles, and by the time that's all squared away hopefully I'll be mounting these bad boys:






Immediately I wish I had sprung the extra cash for 255 fronts and 285 rear tires, but that's ok....I'll consider it when I replace tires next time.

I decided on silver rims because I figured I would get sick of gold or gloss black. To me silver is always a safe and enjoyable choice for a black car. Don't consider these wheels if you are looking for something lightweight. With these Toyo's mounted they weigh about the same as the stock 18" wheels/tires, but rotational inertia is probably increased due to the larger diameter so it's not really a straight-line performance enhancer...although I will be running much wider tires than stock, so who knows. If I go slower, it will give everyone a better chance to see how awesome my rims look : )

Good luck with your search man. I agree it's annoying that everyone is from SoCal and few are willing to ship.

i was leaning toward a silver rim.. classic.. always sharp.. but the more i've looked i'm really diggin the black rim/polished lip look on the CS Z's

i've definatly decided i'm not really into the gunmetal or bronze.

oh and forgive the slightly noobie question (this is my first Z and i've got alot to learn!) are far as tires go...you said you are runnin 245/35/19 f and 275/35/19 r... is that a pretty standard tire size for 19's? assuming i'm putting them on a non-lowered Z.

i've also read much discussion about the offset on the forum... what would be the closest offset to stock set up when goin up to 19x9 f, 19x10 r?

Heres mine i just got these wheels 2 weeks ago 18X8.5, 18X10. I dont have tires yet...I dont know what tire im gonna get NITTO NEOGEN or TOYO T1R.

Thinking bout changing out my Rays. They are the ones from the 06 GT (Canadian) version and I think the 35TH anniversary edition. We only get two choices for Z's here. One is loaded except for Nav (GT) and other doesn't have Brembo's, Rays Wheels. I am not sure which version that is in the US.

Thanks man, yeah I sure hope they look good on the car. I can't wait to be obsessively cleaning the polished lips every time I drive through a pile of dirt on the road

Regarding offset, the only OEM wheel for the 350z that comes in 19x10 is the 2006/2007 Track & Grand Touring trim level rear wheels. The offset on those wheels is +30 mm. Most aftermarket 19x10 or 19x10.5 wheels will have offsets somewhere between +20 and +30, although some of the Volk wheels (GT-S and LE37t come to mind) have offsets in the teens. If you want the stock look you should stick to something +30 to +35. (Remember, the higher the offset, the more tucked in your wheel will be).

Also those tire sizes are pretty common for 19x9/9.5 and 19x10/10.5 wheels. Some people will bump up the width to 255 front and 285 rear, which also slightly increases your sidewall height (assuming you are still in a 35 series tire) so it may help to fill in your fender gap a bit more, although you might not even notice a difference. Plus it gives you a larger contact patch for more traction. Although 275 should be plenty wide.

Yeah man, hopefully I'll have them on by that meet on March 24th. BTW my car is going in to Pancoast on Wednesday to get the springs installed. I'm goin there on your recommendation so if they screw it up I'm comin after you

Yeah I weighed them along with the 18" 2006 stockers with potenzas and the fronts are about the same weight, while the rear super rozzas + toyo were about 1 lb heavier than stock. So they're not too heavy relative to how the car rolls off the assembly line, but their not necessarily light-weight by any means.

Slightly off topic, but I just read on ********* that the stock 19" rays track/GT rear wheels for 2006/2007 weigh 29 lbs each....wtf mate??? That must have been a type-o, or maybe not?

I'm in a similar situation. I just bought another Z in Jan...actually a ZR this time around and I just can't stand to drive the thing w/ the factory wheels. But with this crazy weather it seems like a waste to buy wheels now. Any insight to vender pricing in the "off season"? Will they be more willing to offer low prices due to us on the east coast buying less this time of year? Anyhow I look forward to seeing those of of you coming to that meet in March. Hopefully some people will have their new wheels mounted!

i know this is slightly off the original topic but has anyone experianced a real noticeable difference in the longevity of tire tread with pricier brands as compared to the lowerend tire brands?
