It's English town just a straight away? I was kind of thinking more of an Oval.

You can sign up for a driving event at Pocono or Lime Rock with Performance Drivers Association (PDA).

Englishtown does not have an oval but they do have a track, with turns . I think it is ~1.3 miles with about 15 turns? It is on their website and it is supposed to open Spring 2003(right now).

Default SJ track

SCCA SJ is also sponsoring autocrossing SoloII at Camden or Atco. Some Zs went to the previous Camden event. I think the next one is scheduled for 6/15. The PDA events at Limerock or Watkins Glenn seem interesting to me.

Damn, Raceway Park has come a long way. I think I may have to try the road course (and how much does a shifter cart cost).

They are still trying to get permits to open the road course
As far as a shifter cart...... I race in the Formula Y direct class there and my kart cost me around 4k ready to race.... It is a single gear drive but still does around 80mph and pulls over 2g's in the turns.... It is a blast to drive... You can get a used shifter kart for 4-5 grand for a good one.... They can do over 100 mph... My kart has a balanced and blueprinted 100cc Yamaha race engine putting out around 20hp and the kart onle weighs 165 lbs.
BTW, it is for sale...... IF anyone is interested...........

That sounds like a lot of fun (the cart). Man, I've got more hobbies now than I can keep up with, but who knows, one day at the track might change things. Might be some good video to run that thing around my town a little bit!!!

Maybe we should be trying to get a Raceway Park Track day together (drag or road course). We could drive or watch (if you don't want to race), and eat a bunch of Summer food in the parking lot! Gotta be cheap hotels there too.

I live about 10 mins from raceway park.... I am probably going Friday night to beat on my new trans (haha) if anyone wants to meet up. The track is open from 5-10pm or so..... If you just want to watch and take some pics and video, you can do that too... I am aiming for a 13.7 with my new intake and transmission.... I am also looking into some private road course time in the near future to do some fiming on.... email me if you want to meet up....

I'm going away Saturday morning, so Friday is out for me, but I'm down in the future.
