Default Got a ticket in PA

I was going 69 in a 45 on Route 1.

I just have a few questions, I am not sure how PA is versus NJ when it comes to this. I just moved to PA last month.

How many points would this ticket be? is it three or four?!

The ticket was for $165, should I pay this or just seek legal council to try to get the points taken off?!

Or should I go to defensive driving class, if they offer this in PA, to get the points taken off?! and if I do how many would be taken off?!

just another question I have an Escort passport, which didnt work until he clocked me. It very rarely goes off in PA, but goes off in NJ all the time.

Does the Valentine 1 work better in PA versus the Escort Passport 8500?

Thanks in Advance.

Erine,

Wow, I didn't know the speed limit was 45mphs. I normally 65 -70 on my way to work on route 1.

I known a couple of people who gotten tickets in pa. They appeared in court and got the points dropped, and paid the court and ticket fees. This is just threw hearsay.

Cops sometimes turn on their radar dect. at the last second to trap your speed. By doing this, they know it is way to late for the driver brake.

Good luck

I feel the Valentin 1 is the best in PA and you could schedule a hearing (plead not guilty) and when you get there just tell the officer or judge that you cannot have any points on your record for your job is there any way they can help you out, they will most likely give you 5mph over the limit meaning no points just a small fine. I think if you were doing 69 in a 45 it is like 4 points and if I remember correctly 6 or 7 points and you have to take a special test. I got pulled over doing 45 in a 30 and I said I work in outside sales and this could really affect my position is there anything else we could do and he told me to plead not guilty and schedule a hearing and he would do the 5 mph over the limit, I paid my fine and it was over with no points. The only advice I can give you is whenever you get pulled over for speeding treat the Officer like anyone else and just ask him if he would be so kind to give you a break.

Be very, very careful. I got a speeding ticket in PA (failure to obey traffic control device), and was told I was given the ticket by a SP, he stated this will not add points to your NJ license, so i was just going to pay the fine. Good thing I pled not guilty, once it transfers to NJ, its 3 points!!!! Go to court!

Yea, what SilverJDMCoupe said. All points get transfered over to jersey. Your best bet would be to go to court.

but she lives in PA?

my suggestion would be to not speed and to be vigilant if you are. knock on wood, it's worked for me so far.

too much reliance on radar can get you in trouble IMO.

If it's your first offense you could probably just go into court talk to the prosecutor and get the points taken off but pay a larger fine.

Hmm, that does suck, there are always cops on Route 1, just like on 202. was pulled over for going 85 in a 55 on the 30 bypass, it was when I first got the Z, we took it 120, but he clocked us going 85 .

We should get some of us Exton people together and take a cruise to get dinner and a few drinks.

Yea I will most likely go to court.

I usually dont take that route so I really didnt know it was patrolled that much. Usually I take 95 to 322, but I decided to take 476 to 1 because of all the construction and traffic on 95. I just started driving stick and get a little antsy in traffic.

Absolut, sounds like a plan. Let me know when the meet happens.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Erin,

Get a beater car for the winter. I do not recommend driving the z in the winter. It does not do well in snow at all. Matter of fact it does not do that great in the rain either.

Just my 2 cents.

I would hire a lawyer if I were you to drop the points. The fine may stay the same but at least your insurance rate won't go up. Lawyer fees can vary from $165 - $500. I've gotten 3 moving violations since I bought my car and and used a lawyer every single time. Let me know if you need any help finding a lawyer, cuz I've used plenty of them

I know, the G was horrible in the winter (but then again i kept the stock potenzas), cant imagine what the Z would be like...lol not looking forward to it.

Im looking into getting some snow tires for the winter, if I find a beater i might go that way instead.

Absolut, I am right in downtown WC, off of high street.

If anyone knows a lawyer in the area, please PM me.

Thanks guys! Because my insurance is high enough, i dont need an increase...lol

Yeah fight those points. The fine sucks but points are the gift that keeps on taking.
