Default Paint Shops in NYC? Silverstone to Lemans!

My fellow New Yorkers from the boroughs

do you guys know of any good reputable paint shops in the area? Preferably in Brooklyn. Or know of ANY paint shops?

I have a silverstone but i had always wanted a Lemans and now im considering repainting the entire car. Some of you might be saying "just sell your Z and get a Lemans". Its not as simple as that. I already have a few bolt-on mods and it would be very tedious to take them off, put back the stock, and then do the same for the new Z. and more importantly, i havent seen any available Lemans Z for sale in this area.

any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The bodyshop that I have recommended a few friends and customers to is located in Flushing. They could do what you are asking.

Shoot me a PM for more information.

Well honestly I do not like being cocky or brag about anything, however I am sure 99% of the locals can vouch for the fact that I have one of the nicest Z's in the area. I have a full color change to Java Black Pearl which is a Black pearl paint with gold flakes. It was also tweaked specifically for my car.

So coming from someone who has been to more shows, seen a lot of cars, runs a shop, and had a full color swap I am sure my word means nothing.

As for who elses cars they paint? They have painted a few of the old crew that I use to enter shows with, Fizz Autosports, who has a car on the cover of Modified mag... Can't say I know of 5stars work or anything but my shop has just recently installed a Varis kit on an Evo, Amuse and INGS kit on two Z's and is restoring a classic car as well.

Who cares what area the shop is in really, it is the quality of work. I am not asking or begging you to go to my shop, hell it doesn't even matter to me, however I know that those who I have sent there were 100% happy with the out come, cost, and the fact that they finish full kits within 3 days, can't say that about 90% of the shops I have been to.

Just wondering what a color change like that would cost. I wanted to go from Chrome Silver to San Marino Blue, the proper way (removing panels, engine, etc.), but am not sure if would be worth it. Most people say you just might as well sell and buy a new one the color you want. whats your take on that?

Personally my respray was less radical than what both the OP and yourself are thinking. I went from Super Black to Java Black Pearl.

I would venture to say at least 5000. I think personally it is easier to sell and rebuy a car than repaint, especially with only bolt on mods. Looking at your mod list personally, I would say the only thing that you wouldn't be able to keep are your tints, however you will probably lose a bit on selling and repurchasing considering oyu have an 03 and oyur looking for an 07+ color.

I personally paid 2500 for my entire exterior to be sprayed, new body kit installed, and all dents to be removed (obviously needs to be done). But again I did not have the motor pulled since the Black in the engine bay doesnt bother me at all.

Gonna' have to vouch for Kevin, here. Seen the car in person numerous times, and the paint job and quality is certainly immaculate.

Well these were taken earlier this year, however the rims, body kit and some other stuff was either sold or redone.

I have a new body kit in transit, interior was started last year but finishing it up this year, new rims, and engine bay is being cleaned up very soon. I do not and will not post any of the newer plans just yet as that defeats the purpose =) but I promise it will blow my old set up by miles. Right now it is about 50% done or less since I just finished disassembling everything, and I have ordered most of what needs to go in, but nothing is finalized until March- April when the first HIN event, and other shows begin.

Ill have pictures once it is all done. I just got my Nikon D70 back and I have been working more on my Photoshop skills.

My car at HIN New York. Doug whos 2.5 RS is on the Cover of this months Modified is to the right.

Thanks. I did a complete revamp of the exterior though, so it doesn't look like that anymore lol.

I think my car is on a different level than it was last year, but only time will tell I guess. Still a long ways till I am finished for HIN this year.

I do not know. I have never curbed a rim or damaged them to the point where I needed to refinish them. I wouldn't go to a bodyshop to get rims fixed anyhow.. I would look for a shop that specializes in wheel repairs. I am sure they can paint it, but powdercoating/ chrome would be better a different shop.

Im checking around now. Wheels America specializes in wheel repair. Plan to refinish the AMG wheels on my C36 in the spring or summer.
