Now that I have a job that i can pay to go to a racetrack, I'm 4 hours from the nearest place to do some REAL racing (Summit Point or Watkins Glen).
My solution during the weekdays: GT5. The game is about as real as it is going to get outside of jumping in your own car.
I don't have a PS3 yet, but there is supposed to be a bundle pack with GT5 when it drops this April. Is anyone else going to get this game? We should set up some online races for those rain days (every other day up here?).
Or am I just a video game nerd?

edit: And yes I just invited myself over.
I track my G35 on a regular basis, and while I also play Forza Motorsport 2 on a regular basis, the experience is not the same. Sure, it does help my driving skills a little, but it does not compare.

Haha! Deal! I am getting a 37" flat-lcd too. Still not as good as my old roomates 46 lcd

I did some shopping for one last night and they no longer make the PS3 able to play PS2 or 1 games...wtf? i guess i'll have to keep my PS2 connected as well.
I know it can't compare, but i think the game does give you a good layout of the course. I would know exactly the layout of the Tsukuba circut if i was to go there right now...all the turns, etc. Of course, this wouldn't make me a a good driver, just some fimiliarity with it. I really hope they include summit point and VIR and that track that rich guy build down south on this edition.
