Rizzness (Rizz) and Neuf350z (Deb) both had the Nismo wing put on.

Rizz highly recommended the following shop: George's Auto Body" @ 238 Chestnut St. in Needham phone#:781-444-2894 although I don't believe they are the ones that put his on.

Deb used PF Modify in Allston to do the install, but I believe they outsourced the paint job to someone else and the paint is starting to peel. You can see a great picture of her wing HERE.

You could PM them to get further information. If you aren't in a hurry, Deb is going to be going to the CT meet and is also going to be in the MA to CT Caravan so you could talk to her at the MA Pike rest stop. Hopefully you can make it to the meet. The caravan should be a lot of fun too as we have just about every color (still waiting for a LS)! Hope that helps.

Hey DJK,

I know this is an old thread, but are you still satisfied with your paint job? Some asH#!3 side swiped my car last night and I'll looking to get it repaired inexpensively but right...

Just got an estimate - $700..... my deductibe is $1,000 for collision... damn hit and runs.

So $700 down the drain b/c some moron can't drive and doesn't have the decency to leave a note. I could have claimed it under $500 and he wouldn't even get dinged with an insurance hike.

CAn someone confirm that in MA, a hit and run goes under collision coverage instead of comprehensive?

I just thought of another thing. I was parked in front of my building (which has survelliance) and I can pinpoint (well to the 8 hour period) when this happened. I wonder if management would let me look at the tapes for a hit-and-run. I'd love to catch the SOB.

I'm going to go to your guy at 5:15PM (they close at 6PM) and hopefully it'll be around the $400 range

This board is down more than it's up

djk, I went to the shop at 5:30 and all the body repair guys were gone but one of the regular repair guys "estimated" damage at $400... and said that it was a one day job.

I thought that a bit sketchy since the other two places quoted 3 days, enough for drying of the primer coat, paint, and clear coat.

I'll hafta call and ask about their process. Maybe they are one day because they bake my car in an oven

And leemik, here are some bad pics from my first-gen camera phone

talk to my guy...call and ask for him....see how late he's going to be there. i don't think he'll do it in one day. he's never done my car in one day. last time he painted the bumper...he didn't think it was good enough...stripped the paint...and did it again. i don't believe they bake it...there's no room downstairs to bake anything. did you go into the basement garage? all you'll find is top of the line cars. benzs, porsches, beamers, etc. i'd talk to steve and see what he can do.

Yep, I went to PF Modify and they outsourced the paint job to God only knows what idiot. They never called back when I called numerous times to have them fix it. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY from them!

I actually had inquired about getting the wing painted at Perfection and they said they wouldn't touch it because it was an aftermarket wing.

oh I see... I never caught that his name was Steve Peterson until I reread this thread... I'll call to make sure he is in tomorrow and then I'll drop by during lunch and drop your name to him...

I was a bit sketched b/c I think I was just in the "service bay" area where they were repairing beat up trucks and beaters, I'm sure if I saw the "downstairs with the porsches and benzes", I'd be singing a different tune.

I'll drop by tomorrow and tell you how it goes. Thanks alot!

And Deb, sorry to hear about that

That's one thing I'm grateful for, the support and info network on this forum. If you guys ever need pension/actuarial advice, let me know... hehe

djk,

I just got back from Perfection Auto Body.... Steve Peterson quoted me $325-$350...

Here are the quotes I got:

1. $620
2. $1025
3. $650
4. $855
5. $325-$350

I talked to him and indeed he needs to lay down the primer, base coat, and clear coat. I think the service guy was just guesstimating... thanks for the great referral! I hope it ends up good as new - I'm taking it in Monday in the AM and hopefully getting it back Tuesday in the PM.

Oh and have you ever tried backing out of ramp with the walls on both sides going down to his garage? First and hopefully only time I ever have to smell a burning clutch... MY burning clutch... boy was that stressful.

nice...told ya he would give you a good deal!

yeah...that ramp is pretty scary. i've never had to pull it down there. i always park at the top and walk down there. i let him do the dirty work. every time i pick up the car...it's at the top of the ramp.

but...were there some nice cars in there? is the evo still in the corner (that's the guy who owns T3 Motorsports car). it was supposed to be at the big show at the expo center a while back...but someone pressed the remote starter and the car was in gear. i guess it crashed through a fence and went over a mailbox! haha. also...is that 3series beamer still there? steve was telling me that the kid who drives that crashes it more than a demolition derby car.

oh yeah...he only takes cash or check. can't use credit card cause he does it off the books on his own time. he does the other cars during the work time...but, he'll most likely do this after hours on his own time (at least that's how he always does the work on my car).

Haha... there was a black (or blue) E46 bimmer there... I wonder if it's the same kid. Maybe he's the kid that sideswiped me... j/k

Every body shop I've been to only takes cash or checks save for the $1025 place... I guess they don't like Uncle Sam... lol

Steve seemed like a really stand up guy... I wouldn't leave my car with someone I didn't trust on that professional level...

Are you going to the 10/23 Z and G meet Neuf350z is setting up?
