Default ***august 9th/10th - Official Summer Run

Start Date: Saturday August 9th
Start Time: 9AM SHARP
Starting Point : BAYSIDE EXPO CENTER, 200 Mount Vernon St, Dorchester, MA

Travel: Approx. 2 hrs 30 Mins to Lincoln, NH, about 135 miles
(We will go through 3 to 4 toll booths total of $2 - $3 all together)

We will be making a few stops within the 2hrs for gas, restroom breaks, etc.

Once we get to Lincoln, NH we will stop for lunch, gas, restrooms, etc (Around 12:30) as there is nothing on the Kang. Hwy.

We will then travel the entire length of the Kang. Hwy (about 35 miles, 1 hr 30 min drive, stopping in a couple rest areas for group pictures!)

I figure around 5/5:30 pm we will arrive at the end of the Kang. Hwy. This is where the hotel location(s) will be. Hotel Accomodations: IF YOU NEED DETAILS PM ME

We can then split for a bit and get ready to go out to dinner (town area)for around 8pm.

Sunday, August 10th

We will check out around 11 am on Sunday. We will follow Route 16 to the end (about 1 hr 30 min drive) and hop on 95 South to get home (approx 2 hr 45 min drive to Boston).

Motha ****a I am in. My vacation at the Lake starts on the 9th. I'd head back at night on the 9th though. Either way, I will be there Saturday AM for the Run and hang out and instead of staying at the hotel up there, just go south again.

BTW, who would be interested in heading UP Mt Washington? That is the definition of Mtn Run. However, it will NOT be a Run, you will die if you go off the edge and I am not even exaggerating. In case you haven't been there, think Pikes Peak -- it is exactly like that. But that would be one hell of a time I think. Let me know what you think Alaina.

Maps/Pics for relation of Mt Washinton to Alaina's route...

yes, I know what you mean! mt washington is an amazing road for a mtn run....

but...I would be worried about a few things, if you ever drove mt washington, you know that it killlllls your car, you have to pull over various times, the car gets over heated! I did it in a brand new denali, and it had trouble with keeping cool....
the top of the mtn, even though in the middle of the summer, there is snow, + rear wheel = fcked lol and the road is soo narrow, I honestly would not feel comfortable driving with 50+ other cars up that narrow road...and its much longer than kanc hwy. thats just my opinion though

IDK what do ppl think of the idea, lets hear some opinions.

Made it up and down with a Dodge Stratus rental car once, no problems.

It shouldn't overheat...just go easy. A Denali is a WHOLE different ball game than a 2 dr coupe lol.

I doubt there will be snow in August -- the worst I've seen was flurries on Cannon and that was when it was 55* and raining at the Lake. Weather permitting of course, but I almost almost guaranteeing there will be no snow problems.

But if no one else is down, then thats cool. Just wanted to throw it out there.

More info about the route....

We will be traveling 93 north to exit 32 (Rt 112/Kanc Hwy)
(3 hrs from Providence, 2 hrs from Boston, 3hrs 30 mins from Hartford)

We will set up different points to meet everyone, since everyone is from diff areas (i.e. 8 am first meeting point, Providence, 9/930am 2nd point, Boston, 10/1030am MA (where 495 and 93 meet), then to route 112 in NH at about 1230)

If anyone has input on this, let me know, I'm not good with MA area meeting spots...

Then we can start the cruise down the kanc hwy which if you were going non stop would take about an hour/hour and a half. So I figure with us stopping, taking pics, etc, we will end that route around 230 pm.

Once we get to the hotel we choose on RT 16 (where the Kanc ends) it will be around 4 pm, check in time. Then we can all get ready and go out for dinner or something, and stop at some of the local areas do some pics,etc...

What does everyone think of this plan??
