I am in the market for a 350Z and have a few questions. I have a lot of knowledge on the Supra, Viper and C5 Vette. If anyone is looking to buy any one of these three cars and is a 350Z guru send me a PM and I will be happy to call you to swap knowledge.

The car I am looking for is a 03-05, low mileage, Blue, Touring, grey interior, auto. Obviously this is very specific but it helps to know what you want and exceptions can be made.

Here are some of my questions. I have some experience with other cars that leads me into these questions and I explain why I am asking them after the question.

1. How much less should an auto be priced versus a 6-speed in a 03-05? For example the auto is 5-6k less in a Supra and ~3k less in a C5.

2. How much more does the Blue cost versus other colors? For example in the Viper and Supra it can add 6-15k.

3. I have read that 05’s have less issues than 03’s 04’s but many of those posts were from 06 so I am not sure if it is based on fact or newness of the 05’s at the time. For example in 99-01 many DSMers thought crank walk only effected 95’s. However, this was just due to the newness of the 97-99 cars and not a redesign.

4. The pricing for 03’s to 05’s are very close for similar mileage. How much is a newer year normally worth. IE should the same condition 04 cost $1500 more than a 03?

I have some experience with the 3.0 V6 as I have had a 96TT Z and an I30. However, I have never driven or even had a ride in a 350. This will not stop me from purchasing one however. Thanks for the help!

 

1. Z came in 5 models 28k-35k ish. The auto only came in the enthusiast(mid-model) and touring(highest priced model). If you want leather you must get a touring...6spd came in all models, price between auto and 6spd is negligible(auto may have been 500 less?)

2. this is not a viper. blue is blue. it costs 0.

3. too much to explain, you'll have to google or read or search, but yes 05's generally have less issues.

4. there were very minimal changes from 03-05 besides some of the bugs getting fixed so yea i would say the difference in price between years isnt usually too much... i guess it depends on where you're buying it from and how well it was taken care of. KBB is your friend.
