DK who are all of the others going??? Those arent ALL z owners are they? I mean that would be awesome if they were, but I'm guessing there are gonna be lots of dif cars going?

I want some Porsches, Ferraris, and maybe a Lambo or two. That would add to the cruise IMO.

Saturday October 4th just as the leaves are begining to turn we will be heading out to Skyline Drive. There is a $10 entrance fee per car.

At mile 51 we will be pulling over at Big Meadows to dine... Average cost per plate is $12 and the view is very nice from up there.

This, as well as all other CrossroadOnline.com events is open to everyone you know, and we hope you can come out to enjoy the sights! Let it be understood that during this cruise we WILL have set in place rules for driving which will be made available soon. Please confirm by going to the thread linked below that you are coming so that I can get a solid # of attendees to the restaurant. Thanks!

To join the lunch you MUST reply in the below thread to get a solid count for the reservations by Sept 31st

You don't need to know anyone in here to go. This is a great opportunity to get to know new people. I encourage you to go. Im sure we will have tons of fun.

Skyline Drive is indeed beautiful. I took this photo a year ago when I broke my car in on that road.

I won't be able to join you all though as I'll be a good friend's wedding.

***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***

OK Folks, the final numbers on the restaurant are called in, and the reservations are set, (Edson added a few extra numbers just incase ) NOW... as far as this mornings conversation with the park, the Front Royal entrance is still closed, there are a few large trees that are in the way thus we will not be able to get to Big Meadows from there. Edson has altered the map on the first post and suggest everyone print it out just incase you fall back, printouts will be available with the driving rules the day of the cruise...

Going in thru the Thornton Gap entrance gives us roughly:

15 miles to Big Meadows from Thornton Gap
18 miles down to the Swift Run (33) exit from Big Meadows
-------------------------------------------------
33 total miles of Skyline to drive

Now... given the timeframe of getting out of the restaurant, we MAY just want to continue on thru Skyline to the Rockfish (64) exit, adding another 40 miles of skyline to cruise on, but the weather by the time we reach the end of those 40 miles might be getting chilly... we can all talk about that when we arrive to Big Meadows

I will keep everyone updated.

Here are directions incase anyone is left behind from the caravan.. Arrival at the restaurant is 11:45AM so you can meet us there and catch us eating for the cruise back.

Take I-66 West To Exit 43a -Gainesville/Warrenton.. Route 29-.
Take Route 29 South To Warrenton..
Then 29 Business Route Through Warrenton.
Pickup U.S. 211 West And Follow U.S. 211 To Thornton Gap
After Entering Shenandoah National Park..
Travel South On The Skyline Drive For 15 Miles To Big Meadows Lodge.
