Setting up Local 350Z/G35 Club for NY, NJ, CT and Long Island?
Who would be interested in helping get something like this off the ground? We have been long time members of local clubs such as SQC (Subaru's) and Evo-NY (Evo's) snce their inception, and they are great ways to meet people, talk about and compare mods, set up weekly meets, etc. We ahve also found it a terrific way to take some of the info you see posted on the natioanl sites about our cars, and really dissect them in detail with local fellow owners to get to the bottom of problems and possible solutions, anmd represent ourselves in an oranized fashion at track days, shows, etc.
Obviously this is in the initial phase right now, but if anyone locally is interested in helping out, please let us know!

Wow - great reply so far guys. I'll start getting things moving this week on getting it formalized. First thing I beleive should be an official sign up sheet.
As for a membership fee I know in teh Evo-NY and SQC ones there is a nominal annual dues fee of like 420 or $25.00, just to cover incidentals, etc. We can work on this site once we havea more formal structure in place though.

The Z Car Club Association has tons of information about forming a local Z Car Club.
Contact them www.zcca.org and they will send you a very large book on the subject free of charge.
Also, I will try not to but in to your business but it seems that you guys may be missing a very large item. The Z-Car has been around since 1970. Limiting yourselves to just the 350-G35 seems a little narrow minded. Check out the ZCCA web site and look at the Club Finder. You will be surprised that there are already very well organized Z-Car Clubs in NY and NJ. One of them may have a local chapter in your area or they may be wanting to expand into your area and would love to know you are interested in having a local chapter.
Sm069 - Very little in life comes free of charge. Although the NJ Club does have a membership dues it is (according to the ZCCA Club Locator) $20.00 per YEAR and not MONTHLY as you wrote. That works out to $1.66 per month. Seems like a fair price to me.

To be hoenst I am not really interested in the older Z models at all, only the Z33 and G series. I am aware of the older Z car market, and in fact, everyone here at our shop owns an older model, all in pristine condition. However, this is a local club, for the Tri State region, not something national in scope. As such, the sheer lack of the older cars in our immediate area is scarce at best, and I know there are currently clubs that cater to the older model in our region (we know the guys very well, so would not want to interfere with them)

I should amend what i said above.....if the other members decide that the older Z's be included then by all means...by no means is this going to be something I should or would dictate. My primary interest though, from a knowledge sharing standpoint, is the Z33 and G35 due to the obvious similarities and shared components.
As for meeting up, I know its a bit short notice but the Tobay even tis this Sunday - would be a great day to meet each other, show off the cars to each other and check out all the great cars that will be attending..........what are everyone's thoughts on this?
