LOL.... Nah man, you were doing great out there too. Now that you're BEAC you've got access to a lot of resources, namely the club members that run in Pro Classes and have been doing autoX for, literally, decades. Get in touch w/ us off line and we'll get you hooked up w/ them.

If your looking to start getting competative in autoX, I'd recommend holding off on the mods for now and just get more seat-time in while you "pick the brains" of the experienced guys. BA Cutler and Lateapex have been invalubale to bring my car and skills along, they're probably the 2 most knowledgable guys here in the NW forum on bringing a Z up to competiative autoX specs (Stock and SM2 class), and they're both BEAC guys. Gentlemen, if you'd be so kind as to help DrVolkl out as you did w/ me?

Seat-time man. That w/ good coaching will make you faster than you can imagine right now. It'll take some time (and a lotta tires) but it'll be the best way to go. It'd be easy to throw $ into the car to make it faster, but what I've been told; spending the time working on the 'nut' between the driver's seat and the steering wheel, will make you faster than any mod you could do for you right now. I didn't believe that until one practice day when Glen Hernandez climbed into a stock Civic and beat my times. After I picked my jaw off the floor, it finally sunk in. This is a motorsport where more than 50% of the game is determined by the driver's skill.

How did your buddy Brian N. do as far as times?

I think Brian N's best clean time was a 52sec run. He said he wasn't boosting at all...his bigger TT's weren't doing well with the track.

I aggree with you about the driver thing completely. I think with a little suspension tweek here or there I can make up for some of the "nut" problems.

My car just felt really loose in the track, I want to get rid of some body roll so I can get more power to the pavement.

Mentally I'll feel better.

I think you've done quite enough for me...thanks.

Just kidding! I'll take you up on that for sure! Everyone has been a huge help...I've caught the bug...and it's only been 3 practice days!

I just bought a set of Tein S-Tech off the classified.. $120 shipped.

And in a week or two:

The ZCCW is having a dyno day on the 21st. Yikes! I already signed up for that, so I'd be missing the next practice if that's the case.
