Oil Changes
I wanted to know where most of you do your oil change.
Do you do it yourself or do you take it to the dealership or a garage you know. I just bought my car and I am wondering if the dealership will charge me a arm and a leg for an oil change. I know a local goodyear owner but I am not sure if I want him working on my Z.
I just wanted to get some forum members opinions. Also How many change there own oil.
by the way I live in seattle area so if you have any shops in mind let me know.
thanks

Only 285 miles on mine, so I haven't had this problem yet. No one besides myself has ever worked on any of my cars. The only thing that I worry about if I continue to do it myself is my warrenty. I don't want them being ****** at the dealership about my warrenty if I change my oil myself. Has anyone had been denied their warrenty because the oil wasen't changed by a "certified" mechanic?

The Skagit Karmart Nissan service uses Castrol Syntec blend as the "stock" oil they use in all cars they service. They also won't report mods to Nissan to try to get your warranty voided. They will also work on lowered and bodykit. My local (Bellingham) couldn't even change the oil because "it's too low" , Nismo body kit and RS*R springs, another words just about the same as the Nismo suspension ride height.
I can't recommend Bellinghams "King Nissan"

Not personally, but I've heard stories of it. Just make sure you save your receipts from your oil/filter purchases.
lol, i may be the exception to the standard, i take mine to the toyota dealership ROFL. We bought a brand new 4 runner last year and with that we get oil changes discounted very steaply, as in $16 for a whole oil change w/filter. Then i asked them what it would be if i brought in my own filter and oil, they said approx $4, and i think it was like $4.88. For under 5 bucks they can do the labor
