Formula D Drifting - August 19th - Anyone Going?
Anyone going to the Formula D drift event in Monroe this Saturday? I think I'm going with a friend or two...

I think it's the first time a drift event has been held in WA.

I was there. Does anyone one record the match with Yellow 350z and the mustang and the match before the mustang? My camrecorder was out of battery. If u do, pls post. The yellow 350z is hella sick and agressive
....too bad he lost.

While I was there I got to meet Tanner Foust. Talked to him about that drifitng thing he did on that tv show Tournament of Champions where he gratter cheese
I got some video too. I'll try to get it posted.
Looks like Tanner's running an APS single or twin turbo on that motor. You can see the logo on the intake piping and the BOV. Personally I thought he should have won the round vs. Gittin and gone on to the final 4. Tanner's control and ability to accurately close the gap mid-drift in the front turn was pretty awesome.
Anyone else find it amusing the Ford had mechanical problems? hehehe...
Felt pretty sad to see a Chaser hit a Skyline in the final round. I didn't get to stick around after the last round since I rode with my brother and his wife was chewing him out on the phone (note to self, drive separate next year). Formulad.com is showing the Chaser won the final round. If you ask me, it looked like the Chaser F'ed up the first corner and caused the crash. He hit the wall early on and then over-corrected and T-boned the R34. The Skyline looked far more controlled in the corners as well. If you ask me, the victory should have gone to the R34 based on that and the fact that he fired the car back up and finished the round despite being T-boned by the competition.
For those of you that were able to stay and hear the final judging, what was the justification for giving the win to the Chaser?

Is this right? I thought a Chaser won.

No props to the Sear's Roadster with the Titan V8 engine?
that thing was sick, I was rooting for Tanner too! Friday during qualifications, Tanner was doing REALLY REALLY good! I'm glad to see you guys made it out. I was the guy out at Corner 2 with the headsets. :] Formula D will be back next year, so hopefully we can get more Z lovers out there for the support!

My bud talked to Tanner's head mechanic, and they are running an APS Twin Turbo in there.
The judging is pretty rigged, lots of stuff didn't make much sense at all... but at least they give the crowd a good show.

I'll be there. I've never been to the Evergreen Speedway before. Do they allow you to have video cameras?
