08/18 or 08/19 PIR in Portland
Anyone been to the Portland International Raceway for their Friday or Saturday night drags or want to go to one this weekend?

Hmm... I live in Wilsonville, so I'd have to head up that direction anyway. Possibly we could meet up at the 24 hour Starbucks in Beaverton? Let me know what you think, and I'll check back here later.

Look for the black 350Z in the Starbucks parking lot off the 217 between 7:30 and 7:45 tomorrow. You drive a redline Z right?

If you want to do lots of runs, you're better off being there right at 6pm. From 7-10pm it gets pretty crowded in August and it only takes one P.O.S. VW (this happened three times last summer...) to dump oil on the track and slow things down even more. If you stay until late, you can get lots of runs in later on since the Honda kiddies get restless and leave and the muscle cars are too loud to run after 10pm. PIR in general is a pretty dirty track and its not very good for drag.
Woodburn Dragstrip on the other hand, is much much better for drag racing if that's what you're into. Check out their schedule for Import and Sport Compact races, I've done a number of those (even won pro bracket at one last year). $35 for an entire day of racing (warm-up runs start at 8-9am), plus, there are prizes for the bracket winners. I&SC only has two brackets, Sport (14.0 and slower) and Pro (13.99 and faster).
Either way, have fun, I'm going to Formula D on Saturday instead

I checked the Woodburn Dragstrip, and it is pretty far away, but maybe it would be worth going to...

So are we still on to meet up in the Starbucks parking lot?
