We're gonna have a sizeable Z/G caravan, and even more trickling in separately. I'm psyched! Throwing in my gauges and stage 4 parts this weekend in preparation...

Stage 4?!? We need to talk that day about your SC. I've got a lotta questions. The call of FI is a difficult thing to ignore.

Do it! I'd pull out time to help with the install.

If I do it.... that'll be it for using my Z for competative autoX. It'll be an SM2 car and I don't think it would be able to hold it's own against a boosted Miata w/ a worked chassis in autoX or even worse... a worked Exige! Lateapex just picked up one. I'd probably have to move from autoX to time trials if I wanted to compete w/ it. I dunno if I can swing that expense at this time. I don't know just yet what I want to do. I'll have to weigh my options and above all: see what I'll have the time to do in the next year or two.

But... you're welcomed to try to talk me into it. If you do convince me, I'm gonna take you up on your offer.

I've gone to Golden Gardens before, but it's been awhile, and I haven't brought one of my Z's before. I might consider going... especially if there is a group rolling up from Oregon.

I'll do my best to make it down there. My birthday is earlier that week and we're goin out for some partying Saturday night. If I'm not too hungover/still drunk and able to make it out of bed in time to make the 1-1/2hr drive to seattle to meet up with you guys at northgate, I will.

Well, it's a catch-22. If I'm able to make it (which means I had to get up around 6am), then I didn't celebrate my birthday properly. If I'm not able to make it, then I'm just enough of a rock-star and need to put my purse down.

once we meet up and get back onto the freeway, it'd be a nice photo-op to get all of us cruising in a tight group (we could take up all the freeway lanes) ...just need to find someone willing to stand on an overpass to take the pic ...anyone want to volunteer their GF/wife ????

^ That would be an awesome shot! Imagine that.... all 3 or 4 lanes of I-5 filled w/ (maybe by then) 30+ Z's/G's w/ downtown Seattle as a background. If not I-5 then maybe some other major road using the city skyline as a background. Doesn't 15th Ave face downtown? Would that be wide enough to take a good shot?

Getting everyone into the right formation would require some coordination and would probably take more than one attempt to get that 'perfect' shot. This might be something that we would want to attempt before the GG meet for 2 reasons;
- There will be less traffic on the roads
- Since the GG meet doesn't have any specific end-time, we'll probably loose a lot of the group as the day goes on.

I'd like to suggest that anyone w/ FRMS/GRMS radios (min 5 mile range) bring them w/ you. If we want to try to attempt something like this cell phones may not work if we need to do a lot of communicating as a group.

From Northgate mall, we'll just be taking local roads to GG. We won't be getting on the freeway. No point, and we'll just lose people, since it's just 1 exit South anyways.

^ True, but the question is; do we want to attempt a truly dynamic photo/video shot instead of the usual static shot in the parking lot. Something like first350 mentioned is something that you don't see very often. Is it too "ambitious" of an attempt?

hey guys

i live in that area so i know which roads are the best to take. i agree we shouldnt take I-5 since we can't stop to wait for someone who's caught at a red light. i suggest we West on Northgate Way, which turns into 105th st, which turns into Holman Rd, which turns into 15th ave, then West on 85th st, which leads us directly to GG. those roads are relatively free from traffic (esp on sunday morning) so it'll be easy for everyone to catch up w/ the pack and take some quick photos. my dad might be tagging along in his SUV as a camera car.

Won't work. Like I said, it's only 1 exit down, and to keep the group together, we wouldn't hop on anyways. Just take local roads. This is definitely something we'll have to remember to do at a later meet when we have a chance to hit the freeway for a few miles. I guess someone could take pics or video on the local streets, but that wouldn't be that exciting? Prob still look pretty cool though.

I know that area really well too, since I spend alot of time in Greenwood. Your directions make sense, and are easy to follow. My original ideas involved more turns and going through some back streets, but where traffic is lighter, and you just have stop signs. No traffic lights, left turns at intersections, or crossing major streets. There's 2 spots I'd worry about getting split up with your directions. 1 is pulling out of the mall on to Northgate Way which is tough, whether you pull out onto 5th or 1st and then make the Left onto Northgate Way. The other is depending on how long the light stays green when crossing Aurora, and how many people in the caravan drive like old Asian ladies All of this may not matter though, since it's fairly early on a Sunday morning. Overall I think your directions make sense, and are probably the one we should go wit
