Default State Farm Auto Insurance Rate Hike

Did anybody else get a rate hike on their car insurance? My Z is a year old now and the damn premium is now as high as it was new! BS. I was told that the cost of fixing our cars is so expensive that a rate hike was necessary.

The problems is with STATE FARM! Go with Mercury. I got a cheaper price with Mercury with a 500 dollar deductible than State Farm was offering with a 5,000 dollar deductible. I **** you not. State farm wanted almost 1000 dollars more for 6 months than Mercury did for the same coverage with a deductible that is 10 times higher. They are a bunch of thieves there. Change companies.

I've had State Farm for years for both home and auto, and I upped my coverage in March, my premium is $538/6 months. It went up $3 with the additional coverage.

I'm 28 with a pretty clean driving record (no tickets [that I didn't go to traffic school for] or accidents in the past 5-7 years). My Z is a 2004.

You must be getting a deduction on your auto by having both home and auto with State Farm. My premium is now $740/6 months. I feel like I'm paying rates of an 18 yr old.

Yeah, we have homeowners plus my wife's minivan, and she has a clean record too. Multi-line discount FTW?

Eric, _I'm_ not a whippersnapper, all these other young turds are! Which makes you positively ancient, I reckon.

Hello I'm 29 and I have State Farm also. They raised my rate $7 back in April. I currently pay $130 no tickets, nothing. I would get used to paying higher premiums with the car getting more affordable. Seems I read everyday "So I totaled my Z". Thus rates go up. Sucks

State Farm Sucks. They overcharge for everything. Btw I work for Allstate. If you are a home owner, be sure to get auto and home coverage from the same company. With allstate, you receive a 20% discount on home and another 20% on auto if you have both policies with allstate. Just a little tip.

cost is not the only thing to consider. Research their policies on how they deal with shops etc., I've hear horror stories from some of the cheaper companies when you actually need them. State Farm has always allowed the shops to fix my cars correctly when they needed work.

Geico fixed my car when it got vandalized in Renton. They had it fixed asap and at the shop I wanted to fix it too. +1 for caveman ease.

I love State Farm. They won't screw you over if anything happens with your car and your mods. They paid to replace my real V2, my TS diffuser and clear bra on my car. The extra expense is worth it for the service that I have received over the years.

My premiums haven't gone up and I also just got a refund check in the mail from them from out of nowhere.

I think they sent the check to the wrong address! They still owe me 500 bucks from when that deadbeat with no insurance totalled my Scirocco in 96!!

I don't think I'll ever see that money
