BANG!! Done....
Damn Noel, that sucks!!! At least you're ok! That was a nice car...she'll be missed.
I look forward to seeing your next purchase...I'm sure you'll come up with something cool. Have you seen the limited edition nismo Z?

^ Thanks dude. Yep, that I have the Nismo Z would be so sweet. I'm currently starting to mentally compile a list of possibilities. Once everything is taken care of w/ my the insurance, I'll be ready to seriously sit down and consider possibilities. But even before that; Rahtok had a great idea of holding a wake (provided that my Z is truly gone), I think that would help me settle things in my mind and then I could try move on. One of the vehicles in this mental list of mine is a first gen NSX. If I decide to act on this impulse, we will have to have some conversations.
Again, I just want to say thanks to all the guys on this forum who've contacted me and offer their condolences and sharing their experiences. I've never personally met some of you and only know you by screen name, but you guys have helped ease the personal loss that I feel right now. Z car owners love their cars and it shows.

You know, someone has to be the 1st to get a GT-R...so perhaps just save your pennies.
Damn Noel,
Sorry to hear that man
. I know how you liked that car. Just like most everyone noted before me... as long as you're OK.
Perhaps once you decide to buy a new Z we can get a caravan of Zs to stop by and *assault* one of the dealerships to get you a good deal
Take care man and rest up!

Wow, sorry to hear about your Z. Pix look sickening. Glad you're ok.
Not that I'm Skyline biased..
but I thought I'd throw this into your pot of possibilities to consider...Looks perty sweet...

and if we apply the old theory "when God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window" to this situation we see so many windows:
NSX, GT-R, G37, E46, EVO-X, NismoZ, etc

Called Allstate today to see if they had the field assessor had a chance to see my car yet. They said that it should be sometime this week.
Feeling mostly good, although everyone keeps telling me stories about how their physical problems from an accident didn't surface for days afterwards. One co-worker even told me it was 3 weeks later for him. I think all these stories that I've been hearing has gotten me a little spoked. Waiting for my Dr's office to get back to me on an appointment.
I think if I do decide to get a Z again (or a G) I would like it very much if we could get together and all roll down to the dealership together on the day I'm ready to buy one. That's a really cool thing for you guys to offer to do that.
But it may be too early to make that call. Part of me is still hoping that the car could be saved. It's a silly notion on my part. The car would be a mess for the rest of it's life, rattling & squeaking all over, rotating masses being all off balance, doors, hood and trunk not fitting right, the list goes on.... I gotta say; my z has a lot of sentimental value to me. Yeah, sounds ridiculous, but I never knew how important it was to me until I saw it getting hauled away on the flatbed. Besides,... it might be best to save my pennies for the GT-R once that comes out.
That doesn't stop me from continuing to make a mental list of possible replacements. At this point a new Z is at the top of my list w/ the G a close second.

I've been in a bit of a mental funk since the accident. Keep calling my insurance company to make sure the whole thing is covered. I'm not allowed to take any parts off the car until the field assesor has a chance to look at it. One has already done so, but there was a question to whether it was worth a rebuild or to total it. According to the accessor, it falls in the category of a 'high value car' and is therefore difficult to estimate. They said that I would receive the call on it by Monday.
In the event that they decide to do a rebuild, I could use some suggestions of any local shops that will do a good job.
I'm not looking forward to either option right now, but until I know what the insurance company wants to do, I can't move forward on my plans.
As for myself. I'm feeling fairly well. My back is tight from time to time, but nothing at this time that I would call pain. I have an appointment to see my PCP this Friday. I've been hearing a couple of horror stories on back problems as a result of a car crash. Seems like the neck & back is a very delicate thing, makes me want to wear a HANS device for track days and even for autoX.

maybe u should save for the GT-R... seeing hard expensive/exclusive they are in Canada... http://vancouver.craigslist.org/car/365929199.html
^ Funny you should mention that. Over the past 2 years since Nissan mentioned it's production plans, I've been eyeing and somewhat planning for the possibility. However based on certain things in my life, I don't think the purchase of a vehicle along the lines of GT-R would be possible for me until 2012.
Driving around in a stock S14 has been a humbling experience. The thing is starting to show it's age. And now that I can seat 4, I've got no excuse not to drive when my co-workers and I go out to lunch, only cuz I park closer than my buddies do.
I got a set of used Nismo shocks and springs for it this week. If anything it'll make it looks a little better cuz it's got the ground clearance of an SUV. I'm starting to thing about build it up until the issue of my car is cleared up.
Health wise, I'm seeing my doc in a little while. Back muscles are still tight, no pain really, just discomfort. Lotta paper work to fill out for the insurance company.
