Just guaging interest right now so we can determine what the best event to have this challenge; a BEAC practice day or a sanctioned competative event. If we get a lot of people interested we'll have to work on all attending a competative event. If you're interested, then add youself to the list. The more VQ's the better.

As for when this event should occur, I would like to recommend that we hold it in October. All the craziness of Nationals will be over by then and it will be a more laid back atmosphere.

As for competative events to have our challenge at, here is the WW Schedule for October

7 Sunday WWSCC Championship #8 - Sports Car Spectacular / Everett West
12 Friday BSCC Track Event #4 / Bremerton Raceway
14 Sunday BSCC Autocross #8 / Bremerton Raceway
21 Sunday NWR/SCCA Regional #8 / Bremerton Raceway

I think we should also look into the possiblities of a Portland if we get enough guys from the PDX area interested.

Thoughts?

I vote for the WW autoX b/c probably the easiest and closest for the majority of us to attend b/c it's in Everett...plus I'm already planning to go

For those interested in getting together for this challenge; we had our monthly BEAC meeting last night and discussed some new issues surrounding schedule. Due to the events surrounding the first flight of the 787, the remainder of BEAC practice days for the rest of the year are in question. Any scheduled practice day can be cancelled at the last minute to accommodate the needs of Boeing. The better option would be for us to attend a local autoX event as they will be obligtated to hold the event regardless of if it is in Everett, Bremerton, or Packwood.

Also... where is PDX_Racer, BA_Cutler, Rahtok, etc.? What???... you guys too good to come out and play w/ us?

I'm down for whatever...I can for sure make the WW event, and likley any other event you guys want.

**It'd be great to not just get the autoX guys out...maybe more of the street guys should show up - I think it'd give everyone a good gauge of what the car can do.

I think I'd be more likely to be able to attend the WWSCC Championship #8 - Sports Car Spectacular in Everett. It's on Sunday, October 7th.

I heard from the BEAC guy that will be the SCS focal and it looks like WWSCC #8 is a GO. So October 7th is also a GO for this Challenge.

First350 and I just came back from a 'training day' and I'm seeing where the strengths and weaknesses of this HR engine and '07 chassis setup are. I'm planning to run it in ST1 (Street Tire - Stock), so I'll be makeing a few changes to optimize it for that class. First350 will be running in IA (Improved A), I'm guessing Dkorr will also be in ST1 w/ me. What calss is everyone else planning to run in?

Keep in mind that regardless of your class, we're just going to look at the overall comparisions of out best times.

It's hard to say if there will be an AutoX event in that small window of opportunity between the time your Z gets out of the shop, and the time it goes back in!

I'll probably be TO, since I'll need to run opposite the other rules steward.

Ah-ha! There you are!! I knew you couldn't resist a chance to compete.
Nice! Glad you can come out and play.

So far here's the field so far:

1) Drivesolo - ST1
2) Icedoutis (drew) - TBD
3) First350 - IA
4) Triple8Sol - TBD
5) TheHulk - TBD
6) dkorr (if its local) - TBD
7) PDX_Racer - TO (B Stock)

Fill in the class you'll be running in so we can apply class indexing.

I think you'd be SM2 (SCCA) or OS (WWSCC)...how many autoXs have you been to? If only a handful, you could sign up for the novice group (Novice group is for ppl who've done less than 4 autoX events, and those running on street tires)

I sold my R-comps, so I would be running on street tires. I've been to nearly 10 practice sessions. Never done an actual event though.

I think you're right. I prob would just do Novice and leave it at that.

that's the smart way of doing it...practices don't count for # of autoX events. (w/ 10 practices + your G...you should be considerably faster than most novices)
