Default Tonkin Nissan... possible warranty issues?

I am currently experiencing issues with my passenger side window. When you open the door the window doesn't move up and down automatically. The result is a slight rubbing of the glass, and a loud smack noise when you shut the door. You can manually push the window down a 1/4 inch and it will come back up when shut.

Anyway. I'm currently experiencing an exhaust leak (Nismo on the way), and have test pipes. Do you think I will get flack about things if I go in for warranty work on my window??? Any experience with the service at Wilsonville Nissan??

Thanks!

Anyone?? My window to take it in is rather narrow.... Haha... Oh well.... Life's short. I'll take my Z in now and I'll let you guys know how picky the dealership is.

I've had excellent service from Wilsonville Nissan. My Z is completely stock, but I wouldn't expect any warranty issues from exhaust modifications. No possible way it could be connected to a window motor issue.

All I can say is they were very attentive and obviously interested in how happy I was with their service. I had a crank angle sensor problem and they put me in a rental at their expense before I even had a chance to ask and overnighted the part etc... etc...

Hopefully your experience is as good as mine was.

Thanks for the feedback. I just got home from dropping off my Z. Hopefully I won't have any problems with my modifications. I do have an exhaust leak.... my Nismo S-Tune is on the way to fix that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

UPDATE....

Got my car back. I'm not a big fan of dealerships, but the service was great. My window was apparently bumped out of alignment causing the problem... quick fix. They heard my exhaust rattle and found my test pipes (which I thought might happen)... other than that they didn't make a big deal about it. I told them I had my Nismo exhaust on the way and they offered to install it. Good times.

Cool. Good to know someone else had a good experience. I also like that they have a big window so you can watch your car being serviced if you want.

Test pipes....do you live in a county with no DEQ?

I actually live in Wilsonville, so I still have to deal with DEQ... that's the beauty of buying new though... I don't have DEQ for 4 years from the date of purchase. I'll swap out my test pipes before 2010. Haha.

As far as the dealership goes they offer great service. They offered to install my exhaust (I don't know if the cats will be a problem though) for 145.... I was planning on doing it myself, but I'm honestly a little short on time so I'll probably have it installed somewhere.

Tonkin (both Wilsonville and Gresham/Portland) are great places. I always had great service from them.

DEQ? Come on guys, this is Oregon, move somewhere more redneck (like Lebanon) and forget about emissions.

Ron Tonkin is the way to go. When I had my Acura I took it to Ron Tonkin Acura and they had the best service. Same goes with Wilsonville Nissan. My dads company is down the street from Nissan so if I need to have service done, I can just drop it off and walk to work haha

One of my coworkers has a '05 Z and a lot boy at the Tonkin Nissan on 122nd hit a fence with his car scratching up the front bumper and didn't say anything. They did take care of it for him, but he started going to Wilsonville and recommended it to me very highly.

Haha... Nice..

I'm really curious to see if Tonkin will install my Nismo with my test pipes. If so that's really convenient because it's really close to my house. I somehow doubt it though (even though they quoted me an install price). I'll have to check back. The service seems pretty good. If not... any recommendations for a place to install my exhaust? It's an easy job, but I don't want to take it to nickel and dime shop to have it done.

I purchased my 2006 350Z from Tonkin Wilsonville Nissan and they've treated me well so far.
But I'm having loads of problems with the service department at Tonkin Mazda on 122nd. They've had the car 3 times and haven't been able to fix it. During that time they've hit and damaged the front bumper, and I just found today that they didn't bolt down the cover over the intake and it came of and is all broken apart now.

About modifications to your car, I've read that there is a law stating that they can't void a warranty unless that modification is the reason for the failure. So you can run nitrous on a car and if you take it in because the water pump went out, it is still covered. But if you blow the motor and they swab the cylinders and find you were running nitrous at the time of failure, then they can void the warranty.

Yeah... I know about that law, but it's still makes me a little nervous to go in with certain mods. I know they don't mind the test pipes... I'm just wondering if they'll actually do the install since they're already there. Hmm.
