I saw that Canlis are d!cks when it comes to attire, so considering I have to walk around all day, I'm going to the metro grill. I'll go to Canlis another day.

The Finest PERIOD.
Sometimes you need a year for reservations. They have 3 seatings a week normally.

Yeah, I've heard really good things about Herb Farm as well. I still need to check that place out.
As for attire, any time you go to a NICE restaurant, you're going to have to be well dressed. It's not that they're "dicks" about attire, it's that it's expected attire for the class of venue.

True, but you can walk into Ruth's Chris in Bellevue wearing jeans and they don't care. If I recall correctly, there's even a sign on the door that says something like a dress code is not enforced or something. They want all those hungry shoppers. (=
(I'd guess the Ruth's Chris in Seattle is a little more restrictive.)

Well, the Metro Grill says casual attire is cool. Just come and have fun they said. I want to go to Canlis, looks great, but I don't really have the opportunity to look my best after driving to Seattle and walking around all day.
Btw, don't know how you do it in the States, but I can go anywhere in Vancouver with jeans and a nice shirt. Even if it's a couple hundred a plate. They seem happy I'm there.

Oh, totally understandable. But of note, Ruth's Chris and Canlis are not even on the same level. Not by a long shot. Don't get me wrong, Ruth's Chris is nice, and I'm definitely a fan of the place, but they're totally different styles of places.
Most places here are perfectly fine with you as long as you don't look like some city center vagrant.
If you're going somewhere in Seattle that's nice and is fine with casual attire, Metro Grill I think is the spot for you. You surely won't be disappointed. Enjoy, and let us know how it is!
