Default Breaking wheel lock damage wheel?

Well somehow I can't find my wheel lock key to save my life. My car is going into the shop next week and I need to have the wheel lock key and probably will go to Les Schwab to get them removed. Buying another key set and paying for the removal (10 a corner) isn't the prob. I was just wondering if they will damage my wheels or anything in the process that's what I'm wondering about. If anyone has had this experience let me know.

I don't know if this is the way it's normally done, but in some cases where the side of the lug can't be gripped they drill a hole into the head of it an put in big screw extractor into it. Shouldn't touch the wheel at all. I guess if the lug can be gripped externally a visegrip could be used.

Good that you found them bro because the GT-S has such a small spot for the lug nuts so you probly will get some scratches if they tried to break the lock loose.

take it to les schwab they told me it would cost 10 bucks a wheel to break one. they have a generic sized lug and just place it over the current one and pound until it fits then turn. it might scratch your wheel though cause of the pounding

Just do like a thief would do, place a deep well socket just bigger than the lug nut and tap it on with a hammer and then use a breaker bar or ratchet with a long extension. Kinda a pain in the buTTocks area, bur this is how thieves do it, I was told this by a cop here in Burque.

Those break pretty easily. I've known one other Z owner to have problems w/ it.

If you're in no rush, you can order a new one.

Some shops may even have them in stock.

Thank you for all the input. I went to America's tire today and they did an awesome job removing my locks. I purchased Gorilla locks to replace my old Mcguard locks.
