The 2008 Northwest Racing season
I know Auto-X is big however its just not my thing! I enjoy Time Trial events. I would really like to compete with the NASA in Time Trial events but after scouring the internet and there website there is nothing offered in the NW.
I'm hoping that some of you that are seeded in motor sports might know of some Time Trial events with any sanctioning body in the NW. Any information will not be discarded and be greatly appreciated.
Pm's are also welcome!
Thank you!

NWR-SCCA has a Time trials program. Looks like the next event will be on the Sept 27-28 weekend in Bremerton. SCCA Time Trials is a very good place for a 350Z to complete in since they use the same Class System used in AutoX. Where as an STi has the advantage over the Z in the slow and moderate speed corners (~80% of autoX) the Z has the advantage at speeds over 70 mph (rarely seen in autoX) and in the highspeed corners. But that is a stock comparision, BSP and SM2 is anyone's game.

for Stock classes - STi/Evo/S2K run AS, whereas the RX-8/350Z run BS....but once you get into street prepared, all of the above cars run BSP.

I understand what you mean - I also enjoy the higher speeds and large sweeping corners of track days...but I love autoX b/c I can take a street car and push 100% to compete against others - while I like to push it on the track too, I dial it down to 80-90% b/c a spin on the track is 100X worse than a spin in autoX. (If I had the $$, I'd push 100% on the track too...assuming it has a full cage)

At any rate; assuming equally skilled drivers, a stock 350Z is faster on Pacific Raceways than a stock STi, mostly due to the front straight. Where in AutoX the STi is faster than the Z. I would think in a Time Trials scenario a Z could be the B-Stock leader.
