the best question...does either of them have a hand e-brake? that is how i judge a great rental car. e-brakes in cars that are rented is the best. Also, try to see if you can catch air in the charger. I caught about 4feet of air in a chevy aveo while in reverse. It was great.

I drove the Charger about two years ago when I was looking for cars, and here are my thoughts:

The car (SRT8 model) was fast. But, it was only straight-line fast, and only if you had traction control off. If you tried to turn, forget about it. It was super soft and sloppy. The inside felt like driving a Ram. When I took it back to the dealership from the test drive, the sales guy, all proud of himself, "Yeah, so, nice, eh? What'd ya think? Ready to get that paperwork started?"

My reply, "No. It was terrible. I honestly expected a lot more from the HEMI moniker." He looked as though I had just killed his puppy.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice car in it's own right, but it's not the same caliber of vehicle that we (as Z drivers) are used to. It's just not a sports car even though it tries to be.

I think the SRT-8 models look good...decently fast as well.

Oh, I think they look good, too. And they are quick.

But, all of the above stands.

I bought an 01 Dodge dakota new back then and had it for 6 years. It had terrible reliablility. Things went wrong all the time. Dodge is garbage, and I wouldn't even consider one for a rental.

I drove a 300 Touring from Enterprise, horrible car. Then I got tricked into thinking the charger was different, nope. Same exact car.

nah im driving it a few moments ago and i think i got the crap standard version. Acceleration is terrible, i got owned by a VW bug... then handling i was just going a slow pace around an island in a residential area you could feel the flex of the car completely. then its so bouncy that when i went over a hill that normally my Z even lowered would grace over, it bounced and the front end scrapped. third the interior almost made me throw up and the sound system is just terrible. just such a crappy car and if you want a cheap and overall decent car rent the Sentra.
