BMP is cheaper, and I wonder if they subsidize a portion of it b/c it's their school....or maybe just run it at-cost.

Either way, $110 is a great price to pay to hit speeds 100+ MPH legally

They have one hear in Portland. It's a 2 day class.
You spend Thursday night in a classroom, then all day Friday at PIR driving.
It ran $160 last year, I'll have to see how much it's going to be this year.
They run it a couple times a year.

only $30 to do it at the drag strip if your car can do 100 by the end of it

I'm actually very seriously considering this. However, is this the actual BMP layout? That's it?

from their site:

"This event is open to valid licensed drivers* who have attended our Driving School or have beginner/novice level experience in High Performance Driving."

you can always ask and see what they say...if there's space, and you can sell them that drag racing counts towards experience, I could see them letting you in.

I've never done a track day there, but from what I understand, that's the basic jist of it (IIRC there's slaloms and some staggered cone gates to slow you down after the long straights)...I've autoX'd several times there, but our autoXs have many more turns.

Interesting. I just realized I'm supposed to be going to Mt. Hood that that weekend, but on Sat. night. Hmmm....

What time would this Performance Driving School end?

I don't have any experience, I told them that when I registered and all they said was "See you there!" So I assume its ok. For 110 bucks you can't beat having an instructor ride with you. Even if it looks like a drag strip.

here's a google map of it:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...=17&iwloc=addr

the drag strip is on the South portion...when they run a "track day", it's not just 2 long straight-a-ways...they throw some turns in there.
