Ah-ha-ho-ha.... Ya almost got me to say "YES!" to this. Very tricky First350...very tricky indeed....but I don't know if I can stand the possible jail sentance that I might be faced w/ as result of from traveling to Northgate in a group w/ YOU there.

I will have to consider this very carefully.

Looking for something to do at 5:30AM on a Saturday morning is tough, decided since it was dry I should get out and test a video cam I hooked up to the Z. Figured I'd go to Northgate to see what the view was like from the parking garage. Took some shots at about 6:30AM so the sun wasn't even up. Not the best pics but you can get the idea.

I guess the guys that first get there will decide on where to park, but it looks like the shot might be better from the top of the parking garage (4th floor) than from upper parking lot since lamposts can get in the way.

 

Took a drive to GG from Northgate since it'd been some time since I'd driven to GG from Seaview Ave. I noticed that after the train tracks crossing A LOT has changed from the way I once knew it. A lot of development has been going on, new condos/apartments are where the old businesses are by the water. Even the train crossing is new, looked like it was still underconstruction yesterday.

The most significant change that I saw is that the sholder along the side of the road is now gone. Looks like they replaced it w/ a curb and sidewalk the whole length of the marina. It's still 2 lanes of traffic into the park, but there is no shoulder any longer to park on. So I guess we'll have to get creative. Once the lead car crosses the train tracks and the road opens up to 2 lanes, he'll have to slow down his pace until the sweeper car catches up w/ he rest of the group.

Only one way in and out of the park this year so I guess we'll be encountering other NWN traffic as well. Took me 15 minutes to drive to the park from GG at the legal speed limit. However I think I only stopped at 3 lights along the way. I think at that time of day we'll be traveling, it would take at least 20 minutes to do that route, probably 30+ w/ our carvan.

The route is easy after the turn onto NW 80th St. Only 2 or 3 stop lights from there on (I think). This is the place where anyone lagging behind can make up ground.

early morning drives can provide some of the best experiences...I've done a 4:30am drive before and loved it! (just don't forget to add the coffee )

Im sorry but not even coffee would wake my *** up anytime before 6:30. I used to wake up at 6 (had an early class) lets just say the next quarter i started my classes a little later in the day.

 

4:30AM to go for a drive?!? MADNESS! Who would do something like that???

 

OverZealous1 and I went for a drive around 4AM last weekend. His car is sick!
