I can understand not being happy with the 5AT, but speaking from experience, you're still gonna mod. I used to have an Eagle Talon that had a lot of stuff done to it and I wanted something nice to drive around in while I re-worked the whole car. So I bought a '04 SB 350z with the intention of not modding it at all.

Then I lost all interest in my Talon and started modding the Z.

The next year, I wasn't too entirely thrilled with owning a black car and a base model so I decided I would get the '05 UY that everyone knows and I would order it with the s-tune package and be done with it.

But I still did some more mods and if I hadn't been waiting for the Nismo to come out, I would've gotten a lot more done to that car.

So I get a Nismo and I'm like "this is a limited edition numbered collector's car already tuned from the factory. I'm not gonna touch it". And now it's got coilovers, intakes, HFC's should be on the way and plans to do a whole lot more.

Once you're a modder, you just can't quite be happy leaving well-enough alone. And it doesn't seem to matter what you drive.

Get something unique.

I had a BMW Z3 MCoupe in London (321/325 HP versions are all you get in europe) and it was fantastic. Every year on my Le Mans trip I would convoy with Lambos, 360, F430, GT2, 911 turbo and my car got just as much attention. I really miss her.
Hard to get hold of over here, but worth it if you can find a good one. I'm still looking. Here's a link to my old one, both MCoupe pages and Donnington. Click on slideshow.

ya, i bought the Z as a casual driver i wouldn't modify, and i could have fun in the vettes i had built the hell out of, but no longer wanted to drive much. well, as most of you know, that idea went to shizzle, and now looking for another car that i can "keep in fairily stock condition" and the vette and Z sitting in the garage! i need another hobby, this one is EXPENSIVE!

Ok ok lets not get crazy here. Dont sell your car for christs sake! It's very unique do you really want some punk driving it around thinking he modded it? Why not just buy a civic beater or something or a small SUV that way you can have the best of both worlds.

That is sooo true, I would mod the crap out of an MR if I had one.. just a $600-800 tune and they are over 300whp. The evo reacts so well to mods.. I would be blowing money left and right.

Your full of **** if you think your not going to mod a evo. And your going from an auto to a manual which of course is going to be more fun to drive, then will come your power addiction with an added exhaust and intake.

..... but Z's look so much better and come off as more of an adult car.

I don't know but every time I pass an evo or an sti it's either an old man in his mid life crisis, or some ***** *** kid who thinks he's hot **** revvin all over the place.

I do feel for you about the automatic tho... that sucks.

If you need room and are SERIOUS about not modding (buying an evo doesn't convince me on that notion), then buy an IS250 or something.

woa woa woa...lol calm down and relook at the situation guys. Let me be the first to say that 1. Michelle and 2. Scott would be the first to slap me upside downa nd sideways if they remotely think this situation is a bad decision but in all honesty although I LOVE my car I just can't be pouring more money in a 5AT that I'm not completely satisfied with (obviously). Since I'm going for a 6-speed, with two extra doors I may as well get something a bit more unique than normal and a car thats already modded from the factory so that at least I dont mod it for the 2 years I'm in grad school

. Oh and this ting is ****ing nuts..I'm sold

5AT...I actually had you pic up on my PS3 the other day...selling the car won't cure that bug...part out and get a 6spd driving won't get old with a "Z" unless you go up.

I had a pretty long conversation with Alvin about this yesterday. He's got really good reasons why he wants to go the route that he does. He's done all of the legwork to make this a solid decision for him and for his life. And he's right. I'd be the 2nd person to slap the **** out of him if he was doing something retarded.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just as sad to see it go as the rest of all ya'll are. And I agree, once a modder, always a modder. It's going to take a lot of restraint on his behalf, but it's his life, and he has to look out for himself.

Notice how much reference there is to Alvin in there?

Support your boy! (I mean, still ridicule for having too many doors, he and Ernie can start a little mini I Don't Drive A Z Or A G Coupe And I Have To Many Doors But I Still Want To Hang Out With The Cool Kids club )
