Yeah AWD is great for starting out (esp. in the rain/snow), but it stops like any other car. Plus, if you're on the freeway, it mostly just sucks up your fuel. Full-time AWD + $4.00 or more/gal = ftl.

I dunno about the fuel efficiency of Evo's though. That was just based on my experience with my talon. So I'm not doggin on Alvin's choice per se.

i'm pretty sure i won't me set up within 4 weeks, prolly more like 2-3 months, maybe even a little more. there are a couple of factors at play here as to how soon i can get a license

Alvin, I have a solution. Once your girl pick up the G, take that over and mod that!! You can buy something she might like and slowly take over her G!! She can pay the G payment and you get to drive it and mod it! You can save some parts and transfer over. That way you can still kick it with the coo folks!

This kinda sucks, since not many people keep cars for a long time, we all gonna eventually grow a part and get different cars.... Sad truth..

I mean, I love my Z too but, can only keep it untill I get my R35!!

So, are you leaving this summer? School's starting in Sep. right?

Dude, modding is like smoking or drinking, you can stop any time you want!
My beast is stock, so I spend "modding money" on other things (housewares,
eating out, SAVINGS [I'm 59, & on the verge of retirement!!!], helping my 89-
year-old mother...) Think about it!

I respect that completely. I wish I could be like that (and I'm gonna try). For the new car I'm hoping to just do simple mods such as a headunit, etc. Nothing major like wheels/seats/kit etc etc.

Used BMW 335i. Little mods here/there = big gains. And such a better looking/built car than the Mitsubishi.

The only way to stop moding is buy a car you can't mod. That is why I moved to a FX35. Unfortunately after spending some time over at FX.org and infinitiscene.com I am sadly mistaken.

IMO getting into an EVO or STi is like like saying I'm picking up smoking to curve my alcoholism. If moding is in your blood then stock is never enough no matter what you drive. You're going to start with basics like down pipe, then exhaust, wheels, suspension..etc..etc and then pandora's box would be wide open. For me when I see a sports car I want to mod it and make it fast. When I see a truck I just want to lift it and put some huge mudders on it. When I see large luxury sedan I just want to put some nasty 22" wheels and go gangsta style. Based on what I've seen with you Alvin you're no different from the rest of us. Good luck buddy. I wish you the best.

I absolutely agree. I'd take a long hard look at the 335xi coupe/sedan or A4/A5 Quattro.

That's ridiculous. They're exactly the same. Same crowd, same image, same "fanboys" as you call them, etc...

Yea i suppose they are pretty much the same crowd, but i feel that the 4g63t has much more potential as far as stock block strength.. and it seems everyone has STI's these days so I would definitely get the evo.. if you were planning to keep it stock tho, its a toss up, that boxer motor does sound extremely sexy.

The 335 coupe is too expensive and I'm not feeling the 3-series sedan. If I get one I'd get the 5 series.

I think you're right, the Evo has a stronger block that could handle more mods. I'm also digging the look of the Evo IX more. It's so raw, just pure sexy in stock form.

Good luck with the new car.

Didn't read the whole thread, but did you consider a manual Z. A used '07 HR which would allow you to transfer most of your mods would be a good choice.

I did but a cheap HR would still be 24k...plus I wouldn't get money from my mods. If I part out my Z the money would go towards the MR and makes it somewhat even.
