Default A nice day for Chuckanut Drive

Hi all --

Just had to share a couple of pics of the new Enkeis and the sun on the Solar Orange Z. We stopped at a turnout so I could take the pics, and it took about .00347 seconds for a guy and his 13-year-old son to descend on us. The kid was practically slobbering all over the car, and wasn't trying to hide it. So I took a couple of pics of them, and one of the kid sitting in the driver's seat. That'll make a good photo for their Christmas card to the relatives.

Anyway, here's the new wheels.

And if anyone has any thoughts about terrorizing either Chuckanut or I-5 going to Bham, DON'T. The WSP has discovered both places.

Chuckanut Dr is a nice little leisurely road to go cruising. Do people speed there?

BTW, to the OP, see you next Sunday at the BBQ!

Plenty of speeding on Chuckanut. So far I've only seen motorcycles pulled over, but I feel fairly confident that the WSP would enjoy the opportunity to nab an orange Z with no front plate showing.

We DO hope to see you at the BBQ. Anybody else from down here coming?

Hell, on the holiday weekends I never cruise Chuckanut. Not so much for the increased fuzz in the area, but because there's so many goddamn tourists going 20 mph. It's like they all want to go slow so they can take in all the scenery and don't have enough sense to realize they could just pull over, get out of the car, take some pictures and have a picnic.

I really like the RP03's, but looks like you went with some pretty weak widths/offsets?

Yes, the offsets and widths are weak. 18x8.5 +30 all around. Next set of tires will be 245/45-18 all around; the Z is nearly a DD, and we have a need for all-season tires. I was hoping for 9" in back, but the offset was wrong. At least we can get AS tires in 245/45-18. Any bigger than that and the choices get extremely limited and / or expensive.

Anyway, The Husband does NOT like the look of anything shorter than 45-series tires........... hey, at least I put him together on the wheels.

I live in Bellingham and was parked at the Chuckanut Manor Sunday for brunch. Their food is excellent, $23.50 for brunch.
It was a great day for a slow cruise.
