Saw this, no way it will pass. With todays economy do they really want all the parts stores to close and increase unemployment???? I would hope not...

I've attached a link so we can contact our Washington State representatives to voice our opinion about these types of issues.....

http://www.leg.wa.gov/legislature

I'm tired of them catering to environmentalists and senior citizens. They need to hear from car (and motorcycle) enthusiasts too!!!!

especially with washington being so close

this is retarded, thats why i hate all these stupid tree huggers! jackasses don't realize that the majority of polution comes from industrial sources and that cars are really just a drop in the ocean.

restricting what tires you can put on your car is the most retarded thing i've ever heard, well almost

I think **** from Cali kinda rolls uphill, I worry we could see these sort of restrictions creep into WA soon.

Aftermarket parts don't kill the environment, a stock Prius does.

Dear Lord I hope this doesn't reach Canada. I really hope that bill doesn't pass for you Oregon folks.

Still laughing about the Pilot's on the Metro, however.

They might as well shut down all fuel burning vehicles and send us back a couple of hundred years or so. From the way I see it, it's the best way to stay green.

H.B. 2186 would force consumers to purchase only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) tires because the program essentially exempts OEM-selected tires and unfairly implies that they are superior to aftermarket products.
So would this also include not allowing snow tires in the winter, or even wet/dry traction tires on cars that come with summer tires (which might be fine to have year round in California, but would not fly up here in the NW).

This law would either just not work, or it would have to have enough provisions that it would essentially be unenforceable.

Think about all the shops like Speedware, Drift Office... That's just stupid of them to pass this.
